I love floyd and believe he has the most boxing "skills" in history. But, at the same time I have to admit that his lack of power is concerning to me. You have to go back 13 years to find a legit KO from Mayweather. Ricky Hatton is the last man he knocked down. Since then hes had 11 fights without a legitimate KO. Can he be the GOAT if he doesn't the KO power that Hagler, Foreman, RJJ and the other greats had?
Muhammad Ali is the GOAT. No one has dominated more HOFers. No one has won more wars than him.
SRR is just the default. So many great fighter’s and on a given night most of the top 50 ATG can probably beat each other’s asses. Why taking into account boxing transcendence is important. Not just how great was the fighter, but how great was the man and his effect on society.
But then u have a guy like Ali saying SRR was the greatest has to hold weight.
#1 Floyd not GOAT.
#2 knockouts is one area of being a great champion. You don't have to score knockouts to be considered great
This. Only a casual would consider knock outs as the end all and be all of greatness.

Well, he’s not the goat.
P4P, everyone the same weight, everyone in their primes, RJJ would rule. I’m 100% positive that with these stipulations and every HOFer fought eachother, RJJ would come out with the best record and as the champion of boxing.
I would also go as far to say that if everyone the same weight/height, prime Mike Tyson would be handful for 99.9% of all HOFers.
Yes, Buster stopped Tyson. But Buster also had a significant physical advantage and was also almost KO’ed himself. So imagine a Buster Douglas who was shrunk to the exact size of the 5’10” Mike Tyson?

I would say that yes a fighter CAN be the GOAT even if he lost his KO power late in his career but I don't believe that Floyd is the single GOAT or TBE though. The goal is to win and Floyd certainly knows how to do exactly that. As he aged and his hands became brittle he was forced to learn how to win on points with defense and out pointing his opponents. I see nothing wrong with that.
I think it would just be a combination of things. It's almost impossible to pick one person.
But SRR will always be the greatest in my book. This is the only fighter I'm biased towards btw
Yes its hard to define and SRR is No1 for many, if I had to name one guy I think I would go with Ali not so much for his ring work which was great, but more so his impact on the world, he is a timeless icon for boxing like Mozart Elvis and the Beetles were to music, I dont think we will have another Ali.
And thats the thing if we look purely at the boxing as in who could beat who if they were pound for pound, now thats a road to hell lol.
When you beat a guy down and he quits in his corner, thats domination.
As for the topic Greatest, can some body define Greatest, I think there is a good number of guys that could beat Floyd and he could also beat them, I cant get my head around Greatest, there isnt one there are many.

Dominating or getting a ref stoppage or making your opponent quit is 100x better than a KO. Imo

True
In fact, one can claim a lucky punch. Can someone be lucky over 12 rds ?

To do what Floyd does is harder than knocking a guy out, a total nobody can knock a guy out, you cant school greats unless you are really special, to beat somebody for the entire 12 rounds takes way more than to beat them for 10 seconds.
If Floyd stayed in the lower weights his KO percentage would be much higher, people forget he is a 130 guy beating much bigger guys, I havent looked but I would say that any fighter that began at 130 or less did not have the KOs at the higher weights like they did in the lower weights.
They (Pac fans) know this and it kills them.

Powerful Pac has how many ko's since moving up ?
What are their ko %'s ?
Powerful Pac has 1 whole knockout since 2009. You won't hear the haters bring that up for some reason.
