Wilder's rep has taken a beating since his loss to Fury but he has that KO power and there's always a punchers chance.
What if he's outclassed by Fury again for 10 or 11 rounds and gets the drop on Fury in the 12th.
What does that change? Is Wilder suddenly the man again?
Everybody would have to decide that for themselves. When rating how good a boxer is right now I try to remember everything they showed me in recent fights. Wilder getting the KO win would be good for his rep but I would not forget the beating Fury gave him in the last fight. If Wilder is trying hard to KO Fury by throwing hard rights at him all fight and he finally connects and gets the KO is it really fair to call it a lucky punch? He would have succeeded in doing what he was trying to do.
Whoever laughs last laughs best, I said this prior to the second fight. That the third fight matters more than the second fight. Whoever wins that walks away with the belt for keeps. No contractual obligations.
I hope it's a bloodbath.

Wilder isn't knocking shiiiit out. Fury has already taken all his best punches.
I still believe the third fight won't happen.Wilder may not have to KO Fury in order to win because chances are Tyson Fury may self-destruct. After all, the man is an admitted certified nutcase. However, that does not absolve him from playing by the rules.
It won't change my opinion at all. Wilder is a limited boxer with one punch power, and Fury is a much better boxer who beats Wilder 4 out of 5 times.
I don't doubt Wilder's mental strength, so he could do it... but I'll be prepared to bet he won't as he's simply not good enough.
This is why the trilogy really wasn't needed. It doesn't resolve anything. In fact it's got the 'punchers chance' potential to 'unresolve' things that have already been resolved!
If Wilder does get the win, I think Fury just has to lick his wounds on the sideline and wonder why the hell he got talked into signing a rematch clause when he was mandatory.
They all need to fight win or lose!
Just because Fury beat Wilder doesn't Automatically means other Heavyweight would because other heavyweights don't have Fury, SIZE, Chin or Skills. Triangle Theories are a Coward way out of keeping your favorite fighter from taking Risk. "Oh Because Fury Beat Wilder, AJ Doesn't Have To Fight Wilder Anymore" this is how Boxing Fans are today
Ali Beat Foreman, Foreman beat Frazier, Frazier Beat Ali... so yeah Triangle Theories are a JOKE!
So yeah AGAIN They ALL need to fight!
So if Wilder wins, then it needs to be Wilder vs AJ all over again as much as some people don't want that to be the case and just want to move on to Fury vs AJ
what if Wilder knocks him out beause Fury is busy showboating and mocking him, a la Anderson Silva?
it could happen
then it'd be a lucky shot, because Wilder was lucky that Fury started to behave in stupid fashion and lost focus
There is a mental aspect to being a great fighter as well and if Fury lost in that fashion then I would't call Wilder lucky. I would say that Fury made a poor choice that Wilder was able to capitalize on. Just think, Fury did a lot of showboating in the first fight without getting knocked out so I would give Wilder credit no matter what
If Wilder knocks Fury out, no one will talk about Fury anymore and you'll see Wilder everywhere.
Just like that. He who wins is used by the establishment.

One thing is for sure. As one of Wilders fans told me the night before the rematch, he won't wanna be hearing any excuses..
Wilder's only chance is to land that right. It won't be lucky because that is the only chance that he has. Don't forget that he had Fury twice down with that punch.
