Which wins are the best in history taking into the account how strong the opponent was.
3. Joe Frazier beats prime Muhammad Ali
2. Roy Jones Jr. defeats the Legendary Bernard Hopkins
1. Muhammad Ali Knocks out Peak George Foreman
Phoo...!!
What a childish view of boxing, history, and humanity you have. Are you really this brainwashed by 80 year old wartime propaganda?
From your answer-if it can be called such, It's obvious that you flunked all your history courses at school-if you did any.
(who's the simple looking geezer with the long dirty hair in that picture you have. Some Rock band member..??)
You say "wartime propaganda".. There was NO war then, and would not be for America until another 4 years. You have NO IDEA as to what was going on then, how much to the boiling point this coming fight had brought the American Public, as well as the rest of the world. There was a good reason....The Berlin Olympics had recently taken place and gave a taste of what was to come to the world.
For the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the Jews swept away into hidden prisons and camps, and the main streets decorated like a Potemkin's City street (if you know what that it, you likely don't) with the back streets still full of Jew-hate and "inferior-race" hate. Deutchland Uber Alles blared incessantly from the loudspeakers, mercifully stopped after a while.
That was when Jesse Owens won 4 Gold Medals and Hitler stayed away from the Stadium that day. and didn't present them to him. Owens said that was O.K. but that FDR didn't even send him a congratulation cable, and he got no offers when he returned. (Very much like Sonny Liston after winning the Heavyweight title, with no one to greet him at th airport..)
So that's all I can say to you, if you wish to discuss FACTS, I'm happy to, but if not, there's no need to respond .
BUT..if you're interested Let me recommend to you a book that you may find in a library.
"The Greatest Fight Of Our Generation-Louis versus Schmeling" by Lewis A. Erenberg. Pub by Oxford University Press 2006...231 pages with 42 extra pages of notes and references.
IF you read it, your scornful attitude will vanish like a snowflake on a hot stove.

Douglas vs Tyson Buster beat probably the best talent ever at heavy and overcame a knockdown to win
Duran vs Leonard
Leonard vs Hearns
Braddock vs Max Baer Braddock came all the way back and beat a guy who killed fighters

Magic.....???

How nice, You must get visions from "above" to boost your pedagogical powers. There is a place for you in this world, but I won't be able to visit, ..To many sealed and locked doors, bars, spray canisters, etc. at hand everywhere etc. Your massive powers -really modestly understated- understands my diffidence without even knowing what the words mean.
THAT is true genius.
benitez - cervantes is one of the best. cervantes had 10 title defenses. benitez was 17. this will never be replicated. after benitez moved up, cervantes was a champion for 3 more years.

There is no higher Grade or I'd be in it.
What grade will YOU be in when you leave elementary school in three-or is it four-years time??

Difficult criteria for this one. If it's biggest upset that's one thing. But if it's greatest win when two top fighters at the weight fight in their prime then that's another.
Could have been Taylor v Chavez but for 2 seconds.
It’s gotta be Duran vs Leonard for me too. Just incredible stuff.
Leonard was not p4p number one at the time. As a matter of fact, I'm sure Duran was rated higher at the time. Great win though.
Duran had been rated number one for a long time, but leading up to that fight, people did have Leonard higher simply because Duran had not looked very good at 147 in the couple years before their fight, except against Palomino. Most assumed he’d lost a step due to the weight gain and fighting bigger guys.
It was a victory of good (Louis) over evil (Hitler)

Very true. But in the 6 months he trained before the fight, he got back down to his fighting weight of around 225. He looked good but his skills were of no use against Johnson, an all time great.
