I can respect technical boxers and come forward brawlers equally - styles make fights and there is more than one way to skin a cat.
But these women are professional athletes fully training up for fights.
Then they fight for 20 minutes with 9 breaks in between. Are you kidding me?
One of the great elements of boxing is about picking your moment. Lifting and dropping the tempo. Deciding when to play safe and when to take chances. Using your brains combined with using your physical attributes.
The women don't do that. They don't have to make any choices - they just go out and throw for two minutes at a time.
If you like that then good luck to you, but it looks more like clothed Foxy Boxing than actual boxing to me.
Go to three minutes. Force them to make some decisions about the pace of the fight.
That fight tonight was a load of crap.
Nah I like the two minutes for women, makes for a more fast paced fight and makes it different from watching men bouts. Just cut the break down to 30 or 40 seconds like a previous poster mentioned.
They should have more rounds then.
10 round championship fights at 2 minutes.
20 minute fight.
A male championship fight is basically double the time at almost 40 minutes (36.)
Give em weapons while we are at it. Just to make it more exciting, Ya know?
In all honesty tho, I finally enjoyed a women's boxing match today. Katie fighting Poon was a nice little scrap.

Current format doesn't make sense.
You can add to that... that they can't really buzz the opposition to stop them coming forward either, so the case for three minute rounds is even stronger.
The higher the level, the worse the fight. Needs fixing or it will drop straight back where it came from.
I was thinking today. If they're fighting for less time why do they have equal break time? Why not 40 seconds rest if they're fighting for 2 minutes.
I didn't pay close attention to the fight cause I had 2 fights on at once and the thumps of cruiserweight punches kept distracting me, but the main thing I was hearing from the women's fight was Taylor huffing and puffing loud af in her corner.
