Bud Crawford's biggest advantage in all his fights so far has been speed. Gary Russell Jr would be the first opponent Crawford has faced who is faster than him.
Gary Russell Jr showed an iron chin going 12 rounds with P4P #1 Lomachenko. Some even say he won up to 4 rounds vs Lomachenko. And remember, Lomachenko knocked out Anthony Crolla in 3 rounds at lightweight. Anthony Crolla beat Ricky Burns at lightweight. Ricky Burns went 12 rounds vs Terence Crawford at lightweight and won 4 rounds vs Crawford.
In other words, both Lomachenko and Terence Crawford fought someone on Ricky Burns level at lightweight. Lomachenko knocked his out in 3 rounds, and won every round. Crawford went 12 rounds, and lost 4 of them.
That's why Crawford vs GRJ is such a great fight. The type of guy Lomachenko knocks out easily, he wins 4 rounds off Crawford, so just imagine what the type of guy who goes 12 rounds vs Lomachenko and wins 4 rounds vs Lomachenko could do against Crawford! Obviously size evens out the matchup somewhat, but that's what makes it so interesting! Now you can't pick a winner! 50-50 fight.

Here is a good reason why that fight is a mismatch and stinks. Russell is a good champion at 126. He has never defeated anyone above that weight. Crawford is an outstanding champion at 147. Welterweights slaughter featherweights if allowed to do so. Crawford would get trashed by everybody if he fought Russell and he would squash Russell like a bug. If Russell wants to fight Crawford then earn a title shot by beating a top 10 welterweight FIRST IF he can. 126 vs 147? No thanks.
Stop.
GRJ doesn't care about fighting at all and it shows.
He just shows up once a year to promote his lifestyle.
This is strictly a cash out so he can retire.
I only want to see Crawford vs Russell as a street fight on grass. Gary talks too much and thinks he is Wolverine.
LMAO FACTS. :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
Fucc that Loma vs Rigo mismatch.
I want Crawford to at least fight a Ugas or somebody worth a damn, the welterweight division is stacked.
Plus how you gonna turn down Brook and contemplate Gary Russell jr? Is this for real a possibility?
I want to see the fight because they have history and it’ll be a good fight cuz Bud likes to fight rather than box and that leaves openings for Russell jr!
Russell would be arguably the smartest and most ability boxing wise Bud has ever faced!
Smaller men used to beat up giants all the time back in the day, maybe Russell can pull off a massive upset which would be on the same level as Tyson-Douglas, Joshua-Ruiz 1, Warriors vs Cavs ‘16, Phelps vs the French for his 8th straight gold medal at Beijing Olympics, etc.
Many historical feats have been created and this would be on that level if somehow Russell would be able to pull off the unprecedented!
I’m in for a Crawford vs Russell jr fight, just make it 8 rounds and a catch weight of 144!
bud beats gary like hes an intruder who just assaulted his mother, the loma fight wasnt close at all, it was a walk in the park as far as i can remember
