Sure as an African American When Fury and Wilder fought I was rooting for Wilder. but Fury mopped the floor with him and I gave him all the credit in the world, I was not one of these clowns coming up with conspiracy theories WILDER SIMPLY GOT HIM BUTT WHOOPED....Boxing is 2 men in the ring fighting 1 on 1..Why is it so hard to give the winner credit when they come out on top?
Race or nationality does not make you superior, hard work and your dedication to your craft makes you superior..There is no race and nationality in a foxhole. it is just a human being trying to survive the best way they know how.I support talent and athletes who rise tot he top and overcome huge challenges. I can not respect athletes who do not work and make a mockery of their sports.. As a coach I preach hard work and focus, so I expect any top level athlete to have that ingrained in their bones.
Not me. I don't care about race or nationality. I try to score all fights fairly even when I like one fighter a lot more than the other.
Yes, you do. I just don’t see how you support GGG with all C fighters he fights.
Anyone without an agenda can see how GGG is basic, but y’all crown him like ATG without beating someone elite
I also don't try and claim and develop some sort of attachment to certain fighters that are hispanic like myself. The way I have always viewed it is that, if a hispanic boxer beats another fighter of a different race then I don't act as if that was some victory for me like some people who use that to try and claim some sort of superiority. And that goes for any person of any color. Anybody of any race or nationality is capable of whooping some ass.
Nice sentiments but I think environment does help breed toughness.I know the Mexicans for one have a reputation for being tough similar to certain fighters that come from certain areas eg Philldapheia eg somone put it as :
"I think it's the lifestyle," said Philadelphia-born publicist Michelle Rosado. "It's the way they come up and are developed that makes the Philly fighters the way they are. It's a blue-collar town, and a lot of the guys work at hard-labor jobs. They know about the grind and the grit. It creates a different mentality."
I typically root for people that I have something in common with but nothing stops me from giving any fighter credit because I know it ain't easy to win at the top level.

However all things equal I usually root for the shorter guy to beat the taller guy. Likely because I am short.
Nope. I don't choose my favorite fighters or athletes by their race. I don't have a problem with someone who wants to cheer on their countrymen or even their race, it's normal, so long as you aren't hating a fighter for their race. There are a lot of white fighters who I never liked or who I thought were overrated. Fury, the Klitchkos, Froch, Hatton, Horn, Kovalev and several more throughout history. Most of my favorite fighters are of other races; black, Hispanic, Asian.
Oh the irony. :lol1: :lol1:

I can't be nationalistic when it comes to boxing, there's way too many great fighters from other countries who I'm a fan of.
Duran, Chavez, Pacquiao, etc.
This is pro boxing, this isn't soccer or the Olympics or WWIII.

As a kid I always rooted for the white fighter.I think it was subconsciously tribal eg there white so there the same as me black people are a differing tribe etc .Bit like football where you support the colour of your team.
As Ive got older and got into science/religion more its now not the case.I support the fighter with the biggest heart/best soul/best ability.Likewise recently I only listen to my own judgements and intuition now and not the opinion of others.Hence Iam still learning and evolving as Iam still relatively young.
Key is you cant trust noone fully and noone has all the answers eg doctors/scientists/teachers/judges/journalists .
Only person that has all the answers and you can trust fully is God.
Lol. Don’t be a n00b. Every time I go to Paris-Charles I get cringe snobbery from personnel. Either they hate their life, not happy... then again when u see French to French it’s all dandy. French-Brit rivalry and snobbery is old school.
Give over..
French are meh, there's no rivalry. There hasn't been since they chickened out of the war..
Places like Paris and London which will be tourist areas is not anything like the countries, especially London...

This is clearly now not the case after wider reading.
Key Ive found is you cant trust noone fully eg doctors/scientists/teachers/judges etc bar God as noone is pure.

Yeah well... most countries know about Brit and French ego still thinking their “superiority” throughout the world.
That's just the propaganda you're fed....
The biggest racist in Boxing are white people from Britain. It is common for non white boxers to face racism in Britain. They just have to deal with it.
Kid Galahad was robbed against Josh Warrington. Another fight was when Kash Farooq was robbed agains Lee Mcgregor. The outcome of that fight would have been very different if Kash was white not Pakistani.
Many African/Caribbean fighters face racism examples: Anthony Joshua, Chris Eubank and David Haye. Also
Middle Eastern fighters: Naseem Hamed and Kid Galahad. Read some of the comments on Barrera-Hamed fight on YouTube. You will understand exactly what I am talking about.
Also South Asian fighters: Amir Khan. We all know that most white british guys hate Khan for his race and religion. I could find many examples from this webiste.
What a load of rubbish lol.
First of all, Galahad wasn't robbed, it was a close fight that could've gone either way, however Warrington has a massive fanbase with a fan friendly style, Galahad is a spoiler with no fans, so yeah, it's not surprising that a close decision went to Warrington, but that's due to financial reasons, not racism.
Joshua, Khan, Haye etc are all incredibly successful millionaires who are household names in UK.
Joshua easily does the biggest ever numbers for a UK fighter, Khan was a big hit on I'm a Celebrity, as was Haye.
Yes there's a few racist idiots about, but you get that anywhere. The UK is one of the least racist countries in the world.
Nationalities/Race whatever, If he's a good boxer, I'll watch him. If he's not but entertaining, I'll watch him.. I struggle to watch women's boxing though, bores me to tears but give it a go from time to time..
What I don't get and have only just noticed from being on here is the support between promoter v promoter boxers.. now that I find weird.. I'm into watching boxing and hopefully good fights regardless of who they fight under...

^^^preach Larry!^^^ Chuuuuuch!
Nationality doesnt matter to me (except maybe for Chinese boxers).
I tend to lean more on style - action packed style.
Yeah I’m Canadian and our boxing world exist pretty much only in Quebec. A lot of our fighters are from other countries originally. We’re happy to support anyone if they fight out of here, we need all the talent we can get. We have a huge Chinese population, more so on the west coast though. It’d be great if a Chinese Canadian fighter achieved success, fame, pride. Get more people involved. Get sum lighter weights fighting for us. I don’t even watch hockey.
No makes no difference at all to me, its a sport and may the best man win dont matter a flying fck where they come from or what color they are, they are all human same as me and you.
Yes, just take Deontay Wilder for instance. Why is he the most hated and despised fighter in the world today?
I'll tell you why it's because first; He is an American and he is perceived as the greatest threat to the U.K Global dominance of boxing: Especially in terms of the heavyweight division is concerned and secondly, it is largely due to racial bigotry, prejudice and discrimination in the states.
There appears to be a backlash in America against the black athlete in general and the black fighter in particular. Moreover and, lastly he is even hated among some boxing fans from his own community because of colorism.
There are many African Americans boxing fans who prefer Anthony Joshua over him due to the fact that Deontay Wilder is dark skinned. So once again the answer to your question is yes.
Nationality and race does stop some fans from liking and a giving a boxer their credit.
