Great interview with Mercer..
Mercer was asked who would he have liked to fight from this era, he responds: "Deontay Wilder. That would have been an easy fight. Because he don't know how to box. He totally depends on his right hand and power We were always told not to go into a fight looking for a knockout. He does just the opposite!"

Earlier in the interview Mercer talks about the Shannon Briggs fight where he decided to stay down after being hit with a punch he believes was on the back of the head! Mercer explains that he had a serious eye injury going into the fight and simply couldn't see out his eye. It required extensive surgery and rehab following that fight.
Mercer talks Tommy Morrison: "When I saw those black pimples on his back I changed my whole game plan on the night of the fight! Steroid guys tire quickly so I tried to get him to punch himself out!"
Before fury beat wilder, everyone thought wilder could beat anyone. Lose 9 rounds to everyone before koing you.
Now fury won, everyone beats wilder? But mercer does beat wilder
LDBC and the underlings thought Wilder would beat everyone. Don't be so general. Wilder got out-boxed by a football player with 3 yrs of boxing experience and it took Wilder to pull down his guard (illegal) to stop him. Dynamite in the right hand vs. picked competition but little in the skill department. After all that I still think they odds my favor him in a trilogy vs. Fury, based on the history of unsuccessful three-peats
Ray Mercer style could give Deontay Wilder fits because he was a volume puncher; Not a huge puncher with a granite chin. So if Wilder who throws very few punches doesn't get him out of there he could very well lose the fight on points.
Mercer, Morrison, Briggs, Mavrovic, Rahman, McCall all kill Wilder easily. None of them would have got the chance to do it though, Haymon would freeze them out like Whyte.
Mercer only
Y'all already don't like Wilder lmao. I know you can team up online but don't let personal experience of getting picked on go to your head here. Idc who disagrees. :)
I like that. That's the only way to be. And I can still be a Wilder fan and objectively choose Mercer
Why message me? See how questions work? I found it funny myself that you went out your way to try and belittle someone who didn't agree with you. So I clapped back. Jokes are free for everyone. You got at me not the other way around. Just food for thought.
Mmmm...no.
I messaged you because I disagreed with something you'd written.
You decided my post was ”guaranteed nonsense", apparently without actually reading it.
I found it funny that you'd take the time to let me know that you weren't going to read my post.
I mean, why not just ignore it and keep it moving or show me where I'm talking "nonsense"?

Yes it is. You're taking on all comers with your Wilder KO of Mercer. No one agrees with you're opinion:).

You realized that he got koed when he was 41 or 42 years old, the first time. The second and last when he was 44 years old.
You realize he had been dropped, wobbled/rocked years before that by weaker punchers than Wilder?
no he wouldn't. he had a granite chin
Yes he would've. "He had a granite chin" vague statements like that do no good here. Ray had been dropped in his career.
Mercer had one of the best chins in heavyweight history in his prime , he was solid , good fundamentals and a hard combination puncher ...some of these posters on here really have no idea about boxing...Olympic champion as well
The guy was a brick wall. You're going the distance with him and he's gonna get some hard shots in would be the easiest case scenario
Mercer may or may not show up, secondly Ray should've focused during his era when he could've made a difference. All I hear which is unfortunate is should've, would've, could've, there's no time machine and Ray is fortunate he fought when boxing wasn't getting its ass handed to them by UFC.
Patronizing isn't an insult?

I was glad Wlad savagely beat the white hating mercer after how he hit Morrison 4 times when he was unconscious. mercer before the Morrison fight said a white boy never beats me and I will really give it to him then Wlad the white boy kills himhe was over 40 years old. He got nothing left.
That's a lie. His jaw was so tough he got beat and dropped, and stopped by weaker competition than what Wilder loss to? Wilder knocks him out.You realized that he got koed when he was 41 or 42 years old, the first time. The second and last when he was 44 years old.
I don’t f@cking think so....mercer would have eaten his shots and koed wilder.....the sooner you acccept wilder was a one trick pony with no boxing skill the quicker you can move on to a boxer who can box.
Mercer would've been knocked out cold.
