100 years old Foreman beating guys like Coetzer, Savarese, Moorer and having very close fight with Holyfield and being robbed against Briggs just means that era completely sucked.
I can`t imagine Wladimir Klitschko coming back and beating some top guys now.
The thread title don't make sense.
True champs usually fight on until they lose. They need to be shown they no longer have it. Passing of torch is honourable thing to do. They don't retire when they feel like it or when the competition is too tough.
Too selfish to sacrifice their name for the up and coming, like previous generation did for them is the only reason a young champ wouldn't beat old champ.
Pac beating thurman and foreman beating mooree is just about the only time the trend was reversed. Pac and foreman had no right to be in ring that age, let alone win
Terrible GGG fans derailing the thread. Can’t wait til he retires and takes all of his annoying fans with him.
Lol...you get slapped down in a 1 on 1 exchange so tries to sneak in with a diss.
Well said. Those fights were amazing. I liked the 2nd best, and I like how the old man found a way to come on at the end when it counted against the young bull. I had GGG winning the second. That was a great performance by Canelo, ballsy, but he didn't do enough to take the belts. In a way he should have clearly beaten the older guy but he couldn't convincingly. Still think he did well and he is great but because he shouldn't have been handed the belts in my opinion doesn't mean he sucks or I should hate the guy.
Same to you man...pretty much completely agree with all that

You derailed it by taking 1 example you didn't like (because you happen to dislike GGG who is a good man and a great fighter as Canelo is) and then going there. Wise up.
No problem man...I read your comment when I first pulled up the thread, and thought it was a very valid take...it's not like that was the only fight you mentioned...you mentioned like 10 fights so it wasn't like you were trying to start a fight about that fight or were being snarky either.
I mean I don't really see how anyone gave Canelo 6 rounds in either fight...but if someone wants to tout his official 1-0-1 record vs GGG that is fair too...but it is just as fair for other people to say what they saw in those 2 fights too....I agree that Canelo is fighting exceptionally well now as well...I don't say he lost those fights to hate on him, they were good fights...just how I saw them...he is a great fighter.

Thank you brudda! I guess when one gets angry and really really really goes off topic that says alot about them and who they really feel won a particular fight. Many scribes have opinions of that fight and most of them are in agreement. But I guess according to two people who posted you're not allowed to have an opinion. I really like that Canelo, he's one of the best pound for pound now, however that doesn't change what happened in the ring against Floyd or GGG. Hopefully the powers that be will ALLOW me to mention the Floyd fight

Damn good win for Manny but Thurman isnt really young or really prime
Pacquiao
Mayweather
Canelo
These are examples of fighters who were in their prime around the age of 30.
Keith Thurman is young and still in his prime, although after losing to PAC, his mentality might not be as confident.
Most of the best boxers are in their prime between late 20’s and early 30’s.
Idk man to me it seems like you and the other sweet fella want to try and 'bully' someone from having a very valid opinion, which is that GGG won at least one of those fights...trying to shut down the narrative that GGG won one or both of those fights, which many feel is the case.
I know you and that guy like Canelo a lot, but it is what it is man...most people saw GGG win at least one of those fights...it is fair game to bring that up when addressing the question in this thread.
If the thread was - 'when has a Ukranian beat a Kazahk fighter' then I would expect some people to say 'well I had Derevy beating GGG' and that would be a fair comment to make...I surely wouldn't be getting upset if someone made that comment as it is a valid view on that fight and relevant to the thread topic.
Getting upset about someone mentioning that is a bad look for you guys imo

GGG did not beat Canelo. Come on man, don't make this one of those threads with a side-argument. It was a Draw and a W. The thread does not ask which fights do you think was controversial.
Read it again.
I said according to most boxing writers, boxers, and fans. I also used the word vs, not beat.
This is just one example of older champ vs younger champ. You're the one focusing on that one fight instead of the other great examples I gave. You are putting words in there on your own. Seems like you got a big problem with that fight. Deep down I think we know who you think won.
It just becomes a side topic because now you are opening the door for people to give their opinion on who won certain fights and what fights were controversial. You see what i’m saying? It becomes off-topic. And actually the poster bringing up such a fight is the one that appears to be in his feelings.
Officially, GGG has not beaten Canelo.
It just happens so much on this forum, threads get derailed with offtopic stuff. It’s very rare that a thread stays on topic.

lol GGG lost both fights.
The thread was older fighters beating younger fighters, not which older fighter has had two close fights with a younger fighter and his fanboys cry about the decision for the next decade.
You're one of 2 guys I have blocked because...well I mean look at yourself...you're a complete embarrassment and should be ashamed of yourself...in a just world someone like you would have been banned a loooong time ago.
The only ones crying itt are you and your buddy...as mentioned, if one saw GGG beat Canelo, which most people did at least once, then that would be a case of 'the older guy beating the younger guy'...again if someone saying that really bothers you, that's your problem you Fantastic Artistic Guy.
Y'all want to try and re-write history I guess...or want to try and shut down people keeping it real and saying GGG won those fights...go ahead, be upset about it, doesn't bother me one bit.
But you're mentally ill if you think you're going to stop people from saying what really happened in those fights...and almost everyone with a brain says GGG won at least one and I don't really see how anyone who knows how to score a fight doesn't have it 2-0 for GGG.
And again an overwhelming percentage feel GGG won at least once..so it is a very valid point to make...if that hurts your feelings so be it sweetie pie :)
Dude a lot of people think he beat him, twice even...if the question is 'when did the old star beat the young star' then GGG-Canelo is very relevant as many saw GGG beat Canelo...no need to get all up in your feelings about it.

Floyd - Canelo - 13 yrs difference
And I dont want to hear oh but canelo was green, he was 23, many fighters were younger when they won their lineal titles, tyson, floyd himself.
Some other examples of older fighters beating younger, these are just what came to mind
Hopkins - Trinidad - 8 yrs
Hopkins - Pascal - 17 yrs
Hopkins - Pavlik - 17 yrs
Lewis - Vitali - 6 yrs
Calzaghe - Kessler - 7 yrs
Foreman - Moorer - 18 yrs
Also one thing... in a way a younger lineal champ or ATG almost always wins because if the older champ beats a younger guy.... then that younger guys just ends up being another title defense and nobody makes much of it. Its pretty rare for a young number 1 future p4p fighter to have challenged and lost to a an older number 1 p4p fighter like canelo did with mayweather, usually they probably just miss their shot and never end up becoming the king later.
Juan Diaz got blasted out by Marquez and Campbell
This is a good example of my theory above, two older guys beat a younger up and comer, but since diaz lost to older guys, people will just say "see look, diaz wasnt that great anyways since he lost to old men!" So unless the younger guy can bounce his career back after a loss, history will just count it as a title defense. And especially these days with protected records and them waiting until late 20s before they step up competition, probably wont see many of those.
