Deontay Wilder on Tyson Fury: I don't see him as a champion
"People that know boxing know that it wasn't Deontay Wilder on that night. I was a zombie on that night."
In my eyes I don't see Fury as a champion," Wilder told Premier Boxing Champions' podcast. "He ain't the champion yet because we've still got one more fight left."
I wasn't myself. I felt like a zombie.
"I'm still reflecting. I can't believe the things that happened. I'm figuring things out."
Wilder has previously claimed that his ring-walk outfit, weighing 40lbs, tired his legs and contributed to his loss.
The American, previously undefeated in 43 and feted as one of boxing's all-time hardest punchers, intends to pursue his right to a third fight with Fury.
"No-one should be surprised. I am who I am, Deontay 'The Bronze Bomber' Wilder," he said.
"Why wouldn't I want it?
"He knows that wasn't me. I know that wasn't me. That wasn't the real Deontay Wilder, something was wrong.
"There is more fuel on the fire. This is the final straw."
Fury response:
"Keep letting your self down, Deontay Wilder. It’s sad."
"It was you I smashed that’s the truth. Just admit it and move on, it’s just a fight you win some you lose some that’s boxing pal.’

There's lots of boxers who had a bad night and don't get rematch. Thank your lucky stars. Nel o weren't the real nel o in first fight with floyd, neither was pac.
They're not getting rematches
Wilder was being beaten but? He was still fighting back at the time of the stoppage, Tyson Fury has not broken him 'Beat him YES, but he has not broken him etc'
He was beaten physically and mentally. He still is todisday
Deontay Wilder in terms of technical ability? Is the most limited WBC Boxing Champion there has been in the last 20 years 'There is no questioning his courage/gameness, but his technically ability and fundamentals are terrible'. prince I’ll let you into a little secret all boxers are never shy of courage or gameness...yes it’s true some have more than others.
Look at rosado , gatti , ward they take that to a crazy level and wilder has not suffered beatings like those those fighters and i hazard a guess if wilder has one of those fights that will truly be the end of him.
Wilder has every right to redeem himself and show it was a bad day but to do that you have to accept you got tanked by the better fighter in the night...he’s still not shown that
Wilder is really annoying with his stupid statements. It was him in the ring and nobody else. It was up to him to be ready for the most important fight of his life and if he wasn't then shame on him. Now he says he doesn't consider Fury the champion until he wins the rematch. News flash, he is the champ right now and a big favorite to win the the third fight.
But fury did smash him easily and won every second of every round.
Wilder looked appalling and even now he could look up and say fury made me do the stank leg and it’s because of that power rangers costume I lost....wait a minute he did make that excuse up.
He was lucky he was not taking punches from a Joshua because he still would be knocked out.
the first rule of improving is knowing what you did wrong and the 2nd sign is admitting you were beaten by a better fighter on the night but quietly regathering to come again.
As for Whyte Joshua knocked him bandy and any worse of. Knockout he would be drinking his fluids through a straw.
Wilder will get battered again because he is just not that good lol

Tyson Fury has not broken him, that is why he is speaking in this manner 'But yes for sure Tyson Fury beat him'.
Wilder is clinging to his corner stopping the fight, if he was down for the count of 10? I doubt he would be speaking like this etc
To shut a guy like Wilder up, you have to beat him up extremely badly 'Dillian Whyte has that same kind of mentality, where they will not accept another guy beating them so easily'.

It was obvious to me that Wilder's people were tanking the negotiations out of spite for Hearn and Joshua, and Haymon having his own agenda in mind. They thought getting the Fury fight done was some kind of coup...I always rated Fury and suspected this would backfire.
When Dibella got kicked off the team, Wilder fans celebrated..."that's what happens when you overstep your authority" Delusional
"but but even skipper said he got it wrong"
No - what Skipper said was that he should have established relationships before going in with the big guns...ie these are a sensitive bunch and I needed to stroke their egos a bit before making the offer.
Yeah completely agree with the bold,I argued with his fans before the second fight that he didnt own his performance...most of these guys have now dropped out of the forum anyway
How they tried to change the narrative regarding John skipper is amazing. They literally took his words and tried in vain to change what he said or meant. Like you said he literally what implying that he didn’t know that they are that sensitive, he thought they wanted to cut a deal, that’s why even Lou was baffled, Fury had his deal and Wilder doesn’t have one? Why can’t his so called managers help get him a deal? And that’s why Lou was fired..
Man, Fury beat him very badly. Wilder was saved by his own corner. His life was in danger.
Tyson Fury was beating him 'No Doubt about that'. At the time of the stoppage Wilder was still fighting back, Fury had not broken him 'And this is what Wilder is clinging to etc'

Guy is mentally ill and delusional.
Tyson Fury has not broken him, that is why he is speaking in this manner 'But yes for sure Tyson Fury beat him'.

Wilder is definitely in denial but he's largely always been delusional to a point and that is a benefit of his. For a guy lacking skill set comparable to the other top heavies, he is able to use his will and power to overcome that. So in his mind he has to convince himself of reasons why he lost and not that Fury is flat out the better fighter. If he accepts that point, then he may lose confidence and would have NO shot at winning the third fight.
Did you watch the Rummy/Steward interview that was posted yesterday? Manny mentioned that the majority of heavyweight fighters have no confidence. blew my mind.
I did indeed, the man must have great insight into the minds of fighters and people in general. I don't know many who'd see fear and a lack of confidence in a heavyweight that easily.
This is worse than i thought, i mean i can understand a heavy costume making legs weak possibly but placing him into some form of zombie state, i mean, the costume must actually be cursed in some way. Of all the bad luck u could have, picking a costume that affected legs plus zombified the wearer too, smh
Big difference is, Whyte accepted his loss to AJ like a man. For the most part he didnt make excuses, he went back to the gym, improved his craft and has put some solid wins together. Wilder essentially did get beat up, tbh even if he got knocked clean out, hes still going to come up with something.
I know.
Wilder ACTS exactly how he fights, he was clearly battered in every single round of the fight. But still he is not accepting defeat 'You have to put guys like Wilder down for the count of 10' OR beat them into submission etc

A very bad beating.
