Only 2 come to mind but his fight with Kenny Kost doesn't exist anymore and his amateur fight with Haydarov seems to have been taken down as well. From Miranda to Kov 2...Ward had 14 fights...those were about his only 'real' fights in his career. 8 of 14 of those fights were in his literal hometown of Oakland...a few of those 8 at least were either controversial or close fights that one could argue went Ward's way for the W because they were in his backyard....that doesn't even get into the advantage you naturally have fighting at home for the other fights that did go his way legitimately. 3 of those 14 fights were also in California. 3 of those 14 fights were PPV type fights against a great foreign fighter...all were fought in the US...he easily could have lost 2 of those 3 in a neutral venue...and even though he beat Froch 7-5 on my card, again fighting in your own country has to give you some edge there too. So over half of his 14 big fights were in his literal backyard of Oakland. About 80% of his 14 big fights were in his home state of California. The other 3 were against foreign fighters, in the US, and one was probably a 7-5 win...and the other 2 were very controversial, where he clearly lost 1 but got the nod at home, and the other had some issues with whether or not Ward was able to get away with more than he should have, with the low blows. What exactly am I supposed to get overly excited about...how am I supposed to overlook all of those things when evaluating Ward...why do some overlook all of that stuff for Ward, but they would never do that for a different fighter. If PacMan (or insert fighter's name here) was fighting all of his fights in (or insert fighter's hometown here) Kibawe Phillipines and winning in controversial fashion, people would give him sh.it for it, and rightfully so...what is different here with Ward.

He then moved up to Light Heavyweight dethroned the boogeyman of that division beating him back to back and taking all three of his belts, securing a knockout in the process. He then proceeded to retire as the #1 p4p fighter in the world, and stood #2 only to Floyd Mayweather for years leading up to Mayweather's retirement. He had arguably the best resume in boxing when Mayweather retired...how did he not prove himself against top opposition? It stands to be about as ******ed of a point as I've ever seen on NSB. Kessler, Abraham, and Taylor were the main guys/favorites to win it all. After Ward beat Kessler (#1 ranked figher, top seed) and took his title, he then earned the right to be the A-Side. He was then able to steer negotiations for later fights in his favor because of this. It isn't Ward's fault Kessler's ego and ****iness put him that position. Yeah, I saw him say he would bet anyone that this was going to turn into a Golovkin thread and then sat and watched him slowly turn it into that. Not healthy. Right...glad you caught that too bro

Sorry if I hurt your feelings man...was not intended...I just never saw great boxing skills from Ward at the top level, and have mentioned many times the particulars of that. I mentioned in posts prior that I feel he probably got some help in close fights in the ams for various reasons...and I mean it's not like he was a total scrub...you put him in there with anyone like Paul Smith or Alex Brand and he will win clean...so in the ams he probably only had a very small number of real fights...that is the same story for anyone in the ams...for the good fighters, 9/10 of their fights are no contests. But yeah with his affiliation with Hunter, his feel-good story about a boy-done-good after what happened to his folks...and the fact that he was no scrub, and you put all that together, and that he was likely able to get away with some roughhouse tactics in the ams if needed...and I would say likely got very favorable cards in the ams too, for those reasons. If you or anyone else has any actual footage of Ward schooling someone in the ams in big fights, I am more than willing to view it and give him props for his amateur career...but it wouldn't change my mind at all about what I saw from him as a pro, nor should it.
