wish we could have gotten to see these fights, especially the Beterbiev fights...i think hed have beat both with Bivol being a closer fight.....difference will be Ward's physical strength, ability to fight all styles and underrated power.
I think Bivol beats him and Beterbiev is a toss up.
Real question: does Bivol get the decision? Because Kovalev won the 1st fight w/ Ward. Best I could do was 6-6 for Ward and the KD won it IMO...
Ward erased all doubt in the rematch tho
didnt tyson lose to henry tillman in the ams?
twice at that....amatuer dont mean anything,2 different styles of combat and scoring
Well to be fair they were basically kids back then whereas Sergey and Artur were full grown men. Beterbiev fought with a pro style in the amateurs too, knocked a lot of people out. He's kinda like Oleksandr Khyzhniak, very pro oriented style that worked in the amateurs too. Look up Khyzhniak by the way, best prospect in the ams by far. Hasn't lost in years.
Kovalev was absolutely destroyed by Beterbiev more than once in the amateurs and he considered him to be the bane of his existence there. Kovalev didn't want to fight him and I don't know many people who'd have picked him to beat Beterbiev at that stage.

Those are better match ups for Ward then Kovalev.
Kovalev's long jab and boxing skills gave Ward more problems stylistically then Bivol or Beterbiev could.
Ward too tricky and skillful for both, just superior IQ and finds a way to win.
The same Kovalev who got knocked out by Eleider and almost knocked out by Yarde?
Kovalev had never been seriously hurt until he fought ward
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see since his left is used often he will throw Jabs from too close
Makes you vulnerable to slip 2s and and over hand rights
Everytime he got hurt its shots like that
Once he lost 2 In a row given his age he wasnt the same fighter fighting ward twice after punch resistance
Imo ward vs kov was the most competitive fight between 2 clear p4p guys. It took something out of both guys. That's why one retired and the others punch resistance stamina reflexes and legs deteriorated the last 2 years
Prime kov even the 2 versions that fought kov with all his confidence power willingness to knockout you out drills those guys
Kov was on an absolute tear for like 5 years at the world level. He earned being called the crusher
Bivol and beterbiev have only fought 3 or less top ten guys
If he gets another title shot , it’ll be cause someone wants his name on their mantle like Canelo did
Nothing more , nothing less
Agreed he's nothing more than a name to add to the resumé.
He'll have another title fight I reckon, get blitzed, then call it a day. Of course he has that fight with Sullivan Barrera organised at a 180lbs catch-weight, a fight he could very well lose before he even gets that shot.

If he sticks around it’ll be cause he’s got lawyer fees
He’ll be rendered to gatekeeper although a better than average one

Oh yeah Kov showed in the Yarde fight that he was both still a class above being shot to bits but definitely done at the elite level.

I think that was exactly it
Also you gotta remember he was the WBC mando to Stevenson but was always taking step aside money
So maybe fame got to him , if you wanna call it fame lol
But I also believe Kovi is done , that was his second wind and that’s it , no matter what Buddy says
Cool , just seemed like you were getting overheated

Weird he'd have a half asses training camp but I guess Kov appeared more than shot to him having gone down so easily to his one solid attack in their first fight.

nobody got worked up
imo... the proven Ward, beats the unproven Bivol/Beterbiev... that is all
there is nothing to indicate otherwise

what a load of e-shlt :lol1:
Ward wins.
Kovalev was better than both those guy's in 2017... And up until the Canelo fight, I would've still picked Kovalev over either one.
not sure I would dump money on those guys to beat Kovalev even now... I likely only favor Beterbiev, but not enough to put money on it
we are comparing guys with about a dozen fights, to a guy who is very close to being a genuine great
nobody could pick either of those guys over Ward with any real degree of confidence... these guys are seeing what they want to see
It is called fantasy matchups
Don’t see why you getting all worked up
That’s all it is , fantasy
nobody got worked up

Eleider was living large
L’ost focus and figured he’d knock him out again
I know his training camp for that fight was half fast

Shawn Porter beat Usyk in the amateurs, that's not really saying how a professional fight would go.
Secondly, Beterbiev turned down a mandatory shot at Kovalev:

Artur Beterbiev turns down fight with Sergey Kovalev, looks to make fight next year
He was mandatory to fight for Kovalev's belt when he was fighting Ward who then vacated and retired to avoid it. If he wanted to wait to fight the winner he'd have gotten way more credit and money way earlier in his career so I get the decision.

Yes , your absolutely right
He refused that fight
Saw interview where he made it clear that there was nothing to gain from it , but would of jumped on a fight with Ward
Yeah, the fact no one mentions Zurdo in a positive light anymore kinda indicates where his popularity and credibility are going. To be fair I think Eleider was totally taken off guard by Kov's change in tactics.

Zurdo is just Mia in every sense imo
Alvarez has to box , that’s how he gets those sweet ko’s
When he doesn’t , as the Kovi rematch , we all see what happens
