GGG never had a pair to step up in weight, he was happy to collect paychecks against the Wade's and....whatever those other names were that he fought. I don't think GGG should be talked about to be frank, one of few boxers who seem to get all the credit in the world without doing half the work.

Dawson probably would have won; if GGG didn't KO Dawson in the first 4 rounds then Dawson would probably nick it. But like in typical Dawson style he'd leave it too close then he should have; Dawson always seemed to me to do -only- enough to win by a smidgen of rounds. dawson had no chin. ggg ko's him with one single punch.

I am and I’m not. His tactics were dirty and I didn’t like that, but he was still ultra skilled. His matches against Froch and Kessler were outright masterclasses if the masterclass is flinging poo against a wall and watching it slide down for 36 minutes. besides the first half of the froch fight that was nothing but wrestling, and holding and hitting, among other fouls. those things aren't legal. at some point we have to hold him accountable right and not just pretend he was slickly outboxing his opponents. i mean he did that against paul smith and alexander brand. well done but when the opponents got tougher just look what he did. kovalev for example. outclassed so he went full ward mode(still lost) i can see why ward would be happy he got away with that but why are people who are fans of boxing? you like the houston astros too?

it's a little unfair... 2 divisions is huge we should match G up with middleweights or even 168 lb'ers or, people like to down-play the 168lb version of Dawson when it comes to evaluating Ward... so make that matchup for Golovkin... or with other SMW's of the past Yeah! It's not like ggg fought fighters from two weight classes below........scratch that......nevermind

GGG has never fought above 160 but you pit him in a matchup with a guy who's career was spent at 175? Wtf?

Dawson is too big and good. it's a little unfair... 2 divisions is huge we should match G up with middleweights or even 168 lb'ers or, people like to down-play the 168lb version of Dawson when it comes to evaluating Ward... so make that matchup for Golovkin... or with other SMW's of the past

If ward has balls he'd face canelo at 175, truth is ward has faced are trash cans and unmentionable with he's faced no true elite talent, a basic fighter like kovalev showed ward maybe only good... but I'm sure ward is a realist and understands his limitations and selected his matches as such Sorry but Ward most definitely has a lovely resumé to boast. He beat some very good fighters, prime Kovalev was p4p #2 at the time they fought remember. Although those were both controversial, I still think Ward made a good fight anyhow and proved himself to be of a very high level. Canelo was getting totally outboxed by a Kovalev who was just there for the paycheck and not to go all out and win in their fight before his glass chin shattered again (perhaps because he kinda let it happen, having been so passive). Ward never got outboxed in a fight like that ever.

Ward is bigger, stronger and is a spoiler, he'd find a way to negate Canelo's counters and smother his low workrate. The only person who I think would be favoured against Ward up to light-heavy is Beterbiev.

I appreciate his talent and grit but my lord does he represent the nastier side of how boxing matches can go. I noticed he has a knack of beating the more basic yet hardworking tough fighters like Froch and Kessler, although the Kessler fight was also in some ways egregious with his repeated Billy goat butts. Dawson when he was drained to 168 by Ward looked awful, a shell of who he was and for good reason too. It's too much to cut for him, at 175 in his prime he should beat GGG as he beat BHop while he was the man at 175 still. Oh I know. Was a trick question since my boy Larry is a big Andre Ward fan lol

I don't think this is even up for debate considering you cnt drag GGG up in weight. Until he campaigns somewhere other than 160 it's really hard to say how he would react anywhere other than. Good point, absolutely no point of reference or litmus test that GGG has done to show he can even hack it at 168.

lets not act like ggg has the balls to fight top fighters at higher weight classes, let alone chad...
