I'm watching some of Floyd's fights at the lower weights early in his career and man, he was a thing of beauty...before the hand injuries and moving up in weight. With that said, what year(s) or fight(s) would you say that he was in his absolute prime?
1.Canelo
2. Gatti
3.Ndou
4. Marquez
5. Hatton
The Hatton fight even though it wasn’t a typical Mayweather showcase in terms of him being a ring general and fighting at his own pace, he still manage to landed some vicious head-snapping counter shots that probably caused Hatton to have PTSD to this day.
Yeah good fight
Floyd doesn't left hook to the body that often but he showed plenty of inside fighting vs Ndou.
His signature pullcounter & jab to the body were there also
Shame haymon had his hand picked refs Floyd wanted to in fight more his last days refs kept panicking tho
Corrales was a masterclass !
Gatti was a showcase highlight reel !
Canelo was a masterclass !
Marquez was a masterclass !
I agree, the fight against Canelo was simply brilliant. Only time I’ve ever seen Canelo look confused. And he’s a great fighter.
Marquez fight was a total shutout vs a guy who really should’ve been p4p #1 at the time (everyone had him winning the 2nd Pacquiao fight) and Mosley, faced the #1 welterweight in the world at the time and beat him at his own game.
- -U TUE 51-0 ran like a schoolgrrl and was over the contract weight vs preBALCO Juan who jumped TWO divisions to make the fight.
Then, he didn't even get paid cause the IRS seized his purse for back taxes!
U TUE boys as light in the loafers as TUE was/is/and forever shall be!!!
I'm tryin to tell you people. Mayweather/Chavez. Floyd had to pull EVERYTHING out to get Chavez off him.
If you want to see a fight where Floyd actually had to tap into his ENTIRE bag of tricks.
This fight right here is what told me that Manny Pacquiao had NO chance to beat this guy. None. Because Chavez was arguably the most impressive opponent Floyd ever had. Not Chino. Not Castillo.
This is actually a massively underrated one. Chavez was a monster at that time and really gave Floyd all he had in that fight. 👍 Masterful performance against a top level contender and future champ.
Diego Corrales
Castillo 2 (schooled him)
Ndou
Gatti
Hatton
Marquez
Mosley
Those are my favourite ones to watch. Castillo 2 is underrated because everyone talks about the first fight where he fought injured and struggled, but once healthy he rematched him straight away and almost completely dominated him (I had it 9-3). Gatti was a showcase, and he beat Hatton at his own game and that fight had some unreal counterpunching. Marquez fight was a total shutout vs a guy who really should’ve been p4p #1 at the time (everyone had him winning the 2nd Pacquiao fight) and Mosley, faced the #1 welterweight in the world at the time and beat him at his own game.
People.actually hyping up bums and C-level fighters like Chavez, Baldomir, Ndou and Corley to elevate Gayweather?
Gtfo. Ran, ducked and dodged every top opponent after the Castillo scare for a good 3 years beating up on no hopers until he finally fought Judah, in what should've been a DQ loss for him. Made Hatton come up in weight, robbery victory vs Delahoya, fought a Cotto that had already been destroyed by Pac, came in heavy against Marquez, made a green Canelo come in weight drained, lost to Maidana in their first fight, got every advantage he could for the rematch, then fooled everyone into thinking the McGregor fight was for buying.
Oh forgot to mention, DUCKED Manny Pacquiao for a good 6 years until after Pac had already been through wars and some losses.
What was the original question? Who cares, he's a woman beating scumbag.
you totally REEK of dopey pac-stain
REEEEEK !!!
Manny got pac-spanked by Floyd

Was Jesus Chavez a no hoper when he was beating prime Erik Morales' ass? You dont know boxing. Do yourself a favor and just shut up
Floyd show his skill against an absolute crap boxer like gatti but against a decent opponent he look like garbage who likes to run (e.g. baldomir)
Manny was scared to attack him during their fight that’s all I know. Manny fought like a coward that night.
I don't get how more people don't bring up the Canelo fight....do they just look at the scorecards and assume it was close?
Because the Trumpet Brigade have no clue and the casuals swallow bla bla very easy.
Canelo was a hell of a performance, JMM was another masterclass, the boxing ability on display in those fights was just picture perfect, Floyd is a beautiful boxer his entire game is near on unbeatable over the course of a title fight.
The way it works is the average fans can only see like 60% of whats really going on in the sport they follow, boxing is no different, they see the bits that are easy to see, so they will always notice aggression, winging for the fences and KOes , they cant see the subtleties in the art of boxing, they know they are great fighters but they cant fathom the skillset wrapped up in a near complete package because they dont understand whats on display.
Listen to the fighters they know and most look at Floyd in awe.
actually that is hugely under-rated
hard to look past Corrales as the best win, but Canelo really was a masterclass performance
Gatti was a better performance, but Canelo is obviously on a different level so is likely a better win

Hard to name one fight where we saw everything in Floyd arsenal. Very versatile fighter who could do it all and would use a different style based on his opponent
Phillip Ndou...one of the last fights someone stood toe to toe with fouling and resorting to buying time...Floyd's best performance he destroyed that kid

Chavez was a animal in that fight !
Probably against Canelo.

lo mas aproximado para mi opinion, aunque yo diria que gatti, ndou marquez y corrales se destacan de las demas
Estoy de acuerdo gatti, ndou marquez y corrales fueron excelentes actuaciones y mostraron cuán hábil era Mayweather
The Corrales fight was his most dominant fight against elite opponents IMO so I'd say he looked his best in there. To say his most complete fight, I dunno, he's a pretty complete fighter in any of his Pretty Boy Floyd era fights.
Corrales and gatti .
Even tho gatti wasnt picked by anyone to win that fight floyd still showcased some phenomenal talent albeit vs limited defence or not . That was a masterful performance .
As for the corrales fight .....**** . I dont even need to say why . I thought corrales was going to win that fight myself and floyd just dominated him . That version of floyd was next level , that's when it was confirmed this kid is gonna be great.
As others have mentioned , although maybe not prime still floyd showed alot vs Shane mosely . He showed adversity , a great chin , and supreme versatility. He completely switched it up after he got hurt and started walking shane down and beating him up . I dont think shane win a round after that but I could be wrong ,its been a while Haha .
Floyd is an all time great . I really wish he would have taken a few fights he had missed but hindsight is 20/20 and I appreciate floyd and his career . Its ****ing rare that fighters like him come around . Every decade or so if that .
