Seems like if guys like Adam and Ruiz would just dedicate themselves more to the sport and have a proper diet, they'd be able to make 200 lbs and be relatively muscular and in shape. They have about the same dimensions as most cruiserweights, but with an additional 60-80 lbs*(got corrected by some great posters) of fat on them. What do you guys think?
Wilder's tall but he's half-bean pole.
As we saw in the last fight weighing 230 lbs was too much for him and he's better around the high teens and low 220s.
Wilder is actually a very tall cruiserweight! But has the length and height and power of of a super heavyweight!
I think he’ll come in at 224 in the trilogy match for more speed and agility!
No the problem is that heavyweights of today are bigger than they’ve ever been collectively!
They need to make a new weight class for the super heavyweights!
Guys like Fury, Wilder, AJ and etc. are just too damn big for the rest almost!

Exactly. They lose punch resistance.
I’d love to know the comprehensive science behind that. I remember Chris Byrd dropping all the way to LH and getting tuned up. I considered him having a fairly decent chin at HW. Also the guys ur fighting when u come down shouldn’t be hitting as hard as ur previous opponents either. But the consensus/theory is that when u drop down divisions/weight ur chin doesn’t even stay relative but actually gets worse comparatively. i.e. If u had a “good” chin at HW, dropping to cruiser you might end up with an “average” or even “weak” chin. I don’t know how true or even all the precedents behind all this, but Id definitely love to know more about it at a detailed scientific level.
Exactly. They lose punch resistance.Perfect example was Chris Byrd who went to 175 and was knocked out by a nondescript fighter....and Roy Jones when he went back to 175. Never good dropping back down, especially at a lower weight. Even Leonard who once took Hagler's bombs was stopped by of all people, Camacho by trying to drop back down.
Most HW's struggle when they try to whittle themselves down to CW, look at Szpilka he got knocked down today and went life and death with a dude that was 7-5 and not even Euro level

I think I could get them down to 220...... I'm not a nutritionist or personal trainer..... or know what I am talking about but there is no reason why any athlete should carry 40+ pounds of fat.

20-30 pounds of fat? they are almost entirely made up of fat.
Good point,I completely forgot just how heavy these guys actually are. It's insane to think that these guys are basically the same size as usyk, but they carry around so much fat.
