Wilder should fire an idiot in his team, whose bright idea was to cherry pick the most skilled undefeated heavyweight in last 20 years. If Wilder never fought Fury, he would have stayed undefeated WBC champ. Instead of Fury he should have fought Kownacki, Hunter and that guys. And than he should finally take a huge payday against Joshua.
Now it is too late. Fury ruined his career.
Calling Fury a cherry pick. Nice.
Hindsight is 20/20
You could argue that, at the time, Wilder was looking to fight a credible name who was not gonna set him back.
Fury had ballooned up to 400 lbs, popped dirty? (idk what happened with that whole UKAD thing), was addicted to drugs, and looked bad in his comeback run. But he was also the lineal champ who beat the man of the division at the time.
Calling Fury a cherry pick. Nice.
A 400lb coked up beer swilling fatty who had looked bad previously- this was absolutely a cherry pick that turned into a cherry bomb squad wrecking machine.
Wilder needed a name on his record and Fury provided that while posing little risk - or so they thought.
People here are never satisfied. If he would've of avoided Fury yall would've said he ducked him, instead he fights him and puts on a hell of a show but is an idiot for losing. Half of the people on here seem more like promoters than actual fans.:pat:

Now it is too late. Fury ruined his career.Wilder was a world champion and a champion fights top challengers his weight and does not pick and chose only guys he is sure he can beat. If he does that he is a phony pretend champion not worthy to be called a champion. Wilder did the right thing. He lost which sometimes happens to real champions who fight worthy champions. A champion that stays champion by only fighting cheery picks is not a true champion.
2 x cherry picks.
Cherry pick 1 was a done, career over looking for a final pay check fury. Warren even rang finkel to say dont worry fury was finished as a boxer.
Cherry pick 2 was wilder thought he had 12 rounds toand that 1 perfect shot against a feather fist. Remember wilders fans talking about Wilder opponents having to be prefect for 12 rounds while wilder just had to be perfect for a second.
Fury looked horrible in his comeback fights, it was absolutely a cherry pick because no way anyone watched those fights and thought Fury was ready for a top 5 opponent. The reality is Wilder wasn’t good enough to successfully pluck the Cherry.
Fury fooled Wilder into fighting, he rang up Al and told him he was done and was just looking for a quick payday.
Wilder would then get Fury on his resume and claim the lineal title, thus gaining more leverage in the AJ negotiations.
100% correct and Tyson told wilder after the fight was official this in his own words . I tricked you and your team , I’m kick your ass . Taking the title !! DW laughed that he was promoting the fight also that no way this fat has been going beat me .

I don't think you can call his team idiots for cherry picking Fury from the poor perfomances we saw against Seferi and Pianetta. Nobody (including many 'experts') expected Fury to be ready, except his hardcore fans.
Seems to have been a pattern with Wilders opposition look terrible or mediocre at best in their previous fights (Ortiz, Molina, Washington, Spzilka etc) and looking half decent actually fighting Wilder.
