Canelo was “green” in their fight, but Mayweather was indeed past prime in 2013 at 36 years old. Usually a great “green” fighter can defeat a great past prime fighter. Green fighters use past prime greats as stepping stones. This was not the case here. Past prime Mayweather refused to be Canelo’s stepping stone. That’s not because Canelo sucks, it’s just that Mayweather even past “his” best, was still better than the top fighters of his time. Floyd’s best is ridiculous. And his past prime is still great enough to be greater (at the time) than the best fighters of 2010-2015. JMM, Canelo, Pacquiao and say what you want about Maidana but he gave Floyd the toughest fight.

Unifying belts involves stupid rules like fighting mandatories that don’t deserve a shot at the best. If mandatory challengers were more deserving of fights then it would make sense, but no! Sanctioning bodies put bums like Deryvianchenko in positions to ask an extreme Aside like Canelo for too much of a chunk of his cash! I don’t expect a you to understand because all you care about is gggs betchass!
