Firstly I would say I had heard it was between 50-100k so I’m not sure whether there is any truth at all.
But if true - then wow - 800k for a 5am fight with no undercard
Considering AJ vs unknown Ruiz did 500k, I don't think 800k Wilder vs Fury 2 is beyond the realms of possibility...though it wasn't on sky, it was on BT and i'm not sure that's a particularly popular platform. However if the 800-850k PPV buys in North America are correct, the fight is likely to lose money. Seriously if the biggest fight in the sport this year can't make money, it's time to make some very fundamental changes.
A few key differences.
1) AJ has a HUGE following. Fury isn’t as the same level. Remember Joshua has multiple 60-80k stadium sell outs, fury has none.
2) the time difference does matter too. Fury was on at 5am, so much harder to just stay up for. Joshua Ruiz was early morning hours so more doable.
3) fury wilder was on bt and not sky (it shouldn’t matter but it does)
4) fury wilder was more expensive
5) the Joshua Ruiz card was epic from a uk perspective. It wasn’t just a single big fight, it had several - it was mouthwatering to be honest.

800k is a lot more believable than 50-100k tbh.
We have football, basketball, baseball, hockey, etc. You have soccer and Epsteins buddy, prince Andrew!
The UK has a **** ton of sports. The way this gets baselessly repeated on every thread to downplay the UK turning out for boxing is hilarious.
Those closest to the know knows Wilder vs Fury 2 was a success and the trilogy will be even bigger since now Fury is a bonafide cross country star and Wilder is demoralized and people would love to see too behemoths enact more violence with some willing to watch Wilder hopefully get stopped again!
Others who say it wasn’t a success don’t know what their talking about or their sources didn’t do their full homework or they must rivals!
3rd fight will be bigger. I am sure of that.
Both fights delivered some action and drama so 3rd fight will pull some massive numbers and celebrities.
It could be the return of big time HW boxing in US.

If you are correct that Joshua against a nobody would sell better than Fury/Wilder then that only confirms that the brits knowledge of boxing is weak. You guys should stick to soccer. God loves the queen and Manchester United!
It’s no different to canelo in America ..
Joshua is by far the biggest star in the uk, fury isn’t even near him.
Joshua was on the main Saturday night show last night - because he appeals to the casual.
Wait till the T20 cricket world cup, pick a national team and follow it. Watch it live or watch highlights on youtube.

Thanks. I'll check it out!
I was always intrigued by cricket but never really watched a full match. Maybe I will check it out!

Arum is a serial liar. I’m sure the legit US PPV was below 700k but 100k bump to save face is calm due to huge marketing they did.
But you can’t even make up that type of lie with UK PPV with the price bump, especially on BT that doesn’t have Sky’s reach.
Fox and Disney are publically trades companies. Can’t falsely numbers
We dont merely have football, we have 4 national divisions of it, we have la liga, the european champions league, we have international football (we even follow tournies like the african nations cup here). Football/soccer on it's own dwarfs your sports in terms of co
We have rugby union and rugby league (different sports).
We have cricket, both the full 50over version and 20 over version. It's a sport that has fallen in popularity over the last 3 decades, but is being revived by the new club/country cricket T20 night games..and by England winning the Cricket world cup in the summer in an insane game. It's a shame you're missing out on an incredible sport that's the second most popular in the world. I'm a big cricket fan, it's far far superior to that rounders game you play (a girls game).

You're a nitty with fried brain.
I said Fury vs Wlad which was a primetime fight didn't do 800k. And you quoted me saying Fury vs Wilder is a much bigger fight. Since Fury vs Wlad did almost 600k...it means you agree with Arum because you believe Fury vs Wilder did better numbers.
Also, being a draw will always get you crazy PPV numbers regardless if it isn't the match up the core fans want. Is that too complex for you to understand? Fccking dolt.
You're obviously too dumb to know you're an idiot with non-functional brain cells.
It is a bigger fight than Fury-Wlad. I wasn't aware it did 500k. But if it did then I'd expect Fury-Wilder to beat that as its much much much bigger. Despite the time slot.
Never once said it would do 800 k though. So, it doesn't mean I agree with Arum. Again, never said that.
Being a draw doesn't mean you'll always get crazy PPV numbers. That's just simply not true and we know that. Every big fight has two dance partners. AJ-Ruiz was not a big fight AT ALL and Fury-Wilder 2 will do better numbers.

If the first fight did 325k US and 450k UK, and the second fight did 850k US (or 1.15 million US if you believe Arum), then 800k UK for the second fight is totally believable.
I wouldn't take Bob's word here…Wait for someone else to come out and say what it did.
But can't you tell eventually how many buys it does like you can for Sky Sports PPVs? Was this season Sky Sports PPV or BT Sports PPV?
Funny how you cited the remix of netball aka basketball, remix of cricket aka baseball and the remix of rugby aka American football. LMAO.
So in your warped mind, you don't know the country that invented the original versions of those sports still play the original version, no? LMAO. Big dummy.
Enjoy the Garcia/Vargas fight. And thanks for all the sports, I guess, lol. Are you taking credit for Sweet Caroline as well?
LMAO. Then you must be living under a rock.
AJ vs Ruiz at the same time on Skysports (a much bigger platform with bigger reach) at £19.99 barely did 500k. And AJ was at the height of his popularity with massive marketing by |Skysports. BT didn't even market the fight and they pushed the price up.
If you think this fight did 800k in the UK, you're definitely a nitty and you need to section yourself. LMAO.
aj ruiz 1 did 650k ppv buys btw.
Floyd fought Berto and Guerrero (or whatever the fcck his name is) and it did more numbers than Fury/Wilder. So?
Perhaps you yanks need to stick to your version of football where grown men touch one another's butts. LMAO.
If you don't understand the concept of being a draw, I can't help you.
We have football, basketball, baseball, hockey, etc. You have soccer and Epsteins buddy, prince Andrew!
Nah, you said you believe what Arum said and that means you believe the bogus 800k number.
At that time, AJ could've fought Mr. Bean and it would be bigger than any Tyson Fury fight in terms of PPV sales. Wilder vs Fury 1 didn't even do 100k and they never released the number apart from the fake one they posted on wikipedia
If this fight did anything close to even 400k, Frank Warren would've been screaming everywhere the next day. Stop it and get sectioned.
You aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you? :lol1:
At no point did I say I believe Bob Arum that this fight did 800k. Quote me where I did.
No, he couldn't. AJ-Ruiz 1 was not a big fight and no one cared about it. Fury-Wilder 2 was a massive, heavily promoted fight. You're brain dead if you think otherwise.
