Wilder trains in a 45 lb. vest but 40 lb. costume was too heavy?

Lol Wilder you need to start remembering things youve said before throwing out the blame on everything and everybody else. It was never the suit it was the severe beating you took off Fury. Fury is a hell of a fighter, losing to him is not so embarrassing but all the excuses are wrecking any credibility he had earned.

And remember that there's a difference between being in shape and being in fighting shape. It takes a lot of strength to withstand punches from a 273lb man, over 12 rounds while trying to move, punch and defend. bs!! what was he doing in training then? sleeping? the training part was suppose to prepare him for shiiet like that! if he was wearing a 45lbs vest on while training, then walking out to the ring in a 40lbs costume, shouldnt affect his legs that much to the point where they were completely gone! lol.

What u think your trainer would say to you if you walking around with 40lbs b4 going into a fight? Would he let you do hard sparring the day of the fight? Have u run hills b4 fighting? I regularly work out and have a boxing routine but please dude, that's no different than performing a farmer's walk while if anything is more about back/trap strength than it is your legs. Wilders legs looked fine. Maybe he lost his legs because Fury put him on a bicycle while hitting him with concussive shots that snapped his head back. I've seen the fight probably over 10 times now looking for the moment Wilder "lost his legs" and moment was in the 3rd round by KD. If anything, if someone actually boxed youd probably figure Fury sapped Wilder of his legs because Fury forced him to fight on his rhythm. Rhythm can sap a ton of fighters energy. That was something Wilder had never experienced before. His mouth was already open and gasping before the KD. Im not giving him a pass.... Don't think it was the reason he lost. I agree a good chunk would be in the trap but most of the weight definitely would be in the legs. And there's no way wearing 45 pounds for 20 mins str8 wouldn't take some rounds worth of stamina from your legs. I agree that it was still Fury's gameplan that beat Wilder at the end of the day, but one cannot deny that having a few rounds less stamina in your legs is not going to have some appreciable contribution the reasons why Wilder lost. For example, with less stamina in your legs, your going to move and react a bit slower as both fighters do in later rounds. But if you rewatched the fight, you probably noticed Wilder's reaction time starting in round 2 was surprisingly slower for just the 2nd round, like he was already getting tired. Most of that can probably be attributed to Fury but not all of it. At 20 lbs a leg I'm not too sure I would do much. Throw in on top of that that Wilder trains with a 45lb vest and that standing with said weight on barely affect you because your bones are supporting most of that weight. Throw on top of the that Wilder usually wears similar things to that AND the question that costume truly weighed "40 lbs" or not. Fury leaning his 273 odd pounds on Wilder imo would far more effect than his costume. As a high school football player the pads and helmet probably weight like 20lbs. We would wear that gear for like 4 hours and still expect to compete. Just sounds no self accountability for me.

Hasnt beaten fury in 2 fights judges helped him and now his legs were ravaged by a costume I don't dislike wilder I have enjoyed watching him fold ppl in half but he needs to stop with this bs

The excuse is BS, but just because you can do something in training doesn't mean you should/can do it in competition. Floyd can spar 12 5 minutes rounds with different sparring partners cycling in and out. Doesn't mean he should fight to opponents back to back in a real fight. but training with a 45lbs vest is more tiring than walking to the ring with a 40lbs costume on.... your logic is backward.

You'd be correct if he was not wearing it for more than a few mins. My argument assumes he wore it for 15 - 20 mins because he said he had the costume on 10 - 15 before the ring walk, with the walk being an additional 5 or so mins. He could be lying about the timing. But i believe it's a decent workout if he did wear the suit as long as he said You can't go off what Wilder said. He's a proven liar, excuse maker and moron. Look at the fight again and he leaves his locker room not wearing it and then puts it on in the hallway.

For a man that does “every exercise” in a heavier vest I find it hard to believe he was that worn out from a light stroll. Then again I find all of his excuses hard to believe. Not really, he's on his feet for about 20 mins straight with most of the 45 pounds absorbed by his legs and walking about 200ft. That's hardly a stroll, it's easily a half decent leg and trap workout before a fight. That's easily going to be a few rounds worth of leg stamina Time the moment he puts it on until he takes it off.
