Before the fight, Wilder had the same worried look on his face as AJ before Ruiz 1!

Anyone notice it? In the dressing room we saw Wilder just moments before he was due out.. He was twisting and turning, loosening up but the look on his face was one of concern and trepidation. I remember thinking at the time there was something wrong. Then moments later, after the ring walk, he removed his mask to again reveal the facial expression of a man, worried and concerned about something, not relaxed, focused and determined. Flashback to AJ - Ruiz 1. AJ had that same look on his face before the fight. Wilder mentioned a leg injury in camp during the post fight interview.. My guess it's a genuine injury, and effected his performance during the fight. He wasn't 100% going in. I'd have doubts if a 100% Wilder could beat a 100% Fury though, the skill level is too wide, but Wilder does have an improved chance to land his game-changing right hand if was 100%. Yes, Wilder looked worried fight night. But looked confiden t everyday before which had everyone saying wilder will win?.Wilder looks so relaxed this time? He didn't look completely relaxed before the fight. If you watch the media interviews he did after the final press conf, he was coughing and seemed very low energy, like he had the flue or something. He also left after the live weigh-in interview and didn't hang around for media interviews which could also be considered an indication something was up because why would he leave without doing any media on the biggest fight of his career? Genuine problem behind the scenes?

Agree with this. I did say to the group I was watching with Wilder looked really tense and stiff warming up... But AJ looked Oliver McCall levels of vacant and off before the first Ruiz fight! So you did notice it though, that he was tense and stiff. He didn't have that same fire in his eyes he usually does. Basically his general demeanor and disposition was off, he looked like he'd seen a ghost or something!

I can't say that looked any different from what I associate with Wilder. AJ looked like somebody had died, i've never seen a boxer take on such a worried look, it didn't even seem like fear it was as if somebody had just threatened to expose his same sex group nudes or something :dance: He looked very hesitant, concerned and disheartened before the fight. Pretty much identical to AJ in that Ruiz fight, in terms of his general demeanor imo.

Not even a punchers chance. fury has eaten every punch wilder has hit him with and beat him with ease. Feck wilder, the challenge now is can fury eat AJ's best? You’re probably right about wilder against fury. But when did aj crushed ruiz?? He out outboxed, outpunched and outspeed him but he didn’t crush him. What we saw last night was crushing, and aj’s win over ruiz ain’t close to that.

If this fight hasn't taught you to never say never, then i'm not sure anything will. Wilder could well come back and KO Fury in 1 round, nobody really knows. It's a fools game to talk certainties and boxing in the same sentence. Wilder hit fury with everything he has. he is done. Fought twice, lost twice. Even wilder knows a third fight would just be a fight for another losers pay cheque.

I dont know about any of that but I saw plenty of worried faces at the end of the 1st round. Not surprised though, fury was doing everything he said he was going to do.
