After taking on GGG at his peak and doing a phenomenal job until being stopped on his feet, and then whooping Spence until he got billy goat headbutted into his next (this one undeserved) loss.
Has this paid its toll???
Is Brook shot now???
Looked like he had been out of the ring a while tonight, maybe even 14 months...
Tough year head for the special one (?)
Kell Brook isn't shot.
He definitely had years taken off his career by GGG though. Hindsight, he really had no business fighting him. That orbital break did a number on him. Out for a year, fights Spence, re-does his orbital. Off a year. That took its toll on him really. Avoiding that GGG fight, probably puts him in better shape against Spence. He loses that fight but not re-doing his eye socket. It'd probably had left some tread on the tires by not getting blasted by GGG in the first place. He'd have probably fought 2-3 times before Spence, lose there, fight another that same year, then we'd be where we are now but with what? 3-4 wins between that 2 L span?
Kell Brook is still a game boxer. His best fight before taking the Ls was a majority decision against Porter. In which he really came to control Porter as the fight went on.
So was Brook ever an ATG? No. So, I don't think he is shot. he's just getting back to what he always was and that's a decent boxer, capable of winning a strap. Like a James Lacy or something.
Really cool response with a lot to consider, thanks man.
Yeah, I agree. You can stick a fork in him because he's done. All the elites at 147 and 154 defeats him at this point. His skills have declined and he looks like a diminished fighter.
Very easily understandable and could very easily be true.
We will find out (hopefully if he doesn't retire)

GGG was about one combination away from knocking Brook out when his corner rescued him. Spence beat him fairly by outfighting him with punches not headbutts. Quit making excuses for poor Brook. He KOed a hand picked cherry pick with one hard left jab. Good tough fighters don't get KOed by a jab. Nobody on this forum ever heard of this guy Brook just KOed. Brook doesn't have to fight a cherry pick once every 14 months. He is a big name and rated top 4 by everyone at 154. He could have already fought for a title at 154 any time in the last two years and he could get a 154 pound title shot right now if he really wanted one. He should go after a world title fight next or retire.
I'm going to assume your talking from memory, which is cool.
But I highly recommend a re-watch of the Spence fight as you seem to of missed some highly important things.
Brook was grasping at his eye and could barely walk in a straight line after the "collision".. It was horrific.
I'm surprised he managed until the 11th with one eye.
If the reffed missed the clash then yeah, rules say TKO... but don't pretend it didn't happen
Watch with an unbiased view from the 8th, then watch the finish... Watch the eye grasping and how he grabs it on his knee....It's all there on video along with the "headbutt" excuse in the 8th round (all on camera)
IMO not a legitimate win for Spence and the whole reason Spence said "get a belt" before any rematch
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PERNDYUbiLk
But still, you say it an "excuse"... well, it's one excuse that real time cameras from multiple angles show us all then I suppose.
I like Spence (as a boxer) but this win was not legitimate when looking at the evidence.
But if you think i was just "punches" then that's cool too and there is never harm in discussion, we are all entitled to our opinions.
And the idea of "World title next or retire" I like the idea of.
All the best

So you missed the Spence fight then??? I hardly suggest a watch. Brook was grabbing at that eye with his glove from when it happened right up until the fight being called off, jesus that fight should of been called of waaay earlier, his skull must of been a mess, brook could hardly walk forward straight.
If the reff missed it, fair enough the rules say TKO, but the cameras didn't miss it (I posted the clash before, its easily seen, just hit the link and watch)
But seriously, you should watch it... Spence did a great job of finishing a broken man, that was about it.

My initial post was only a few questions, please look back...
I'm not convinced either way about him being shot, when he had his chances Brook took them spitefully but I think the level of opponent could be improved and I would be excited to see it.
Made me post it.
Having see the other thread, it would of been nicer to retort there for sure.
I do think the GGG fight and the Spence headbutt have taken their toll (on his entire brow) and that's just about my entire opinion which caused my questioning :-)
Yeah that's cool man I respect your opinion of course, i feel that brook choose a safe opponent due to time spent away he knew his timing would be off to begin with. I think what brook decides in the next few months will most telling not what he done tonight.
Basically bro, i respect you but what i saw tonight was a brook that was ring rusty after 3 rounds his timing come back and he dominated. He wasn't shot but his timing was until he settled in man.

Elaborate friend?

No but I think you might be a shot poster. This exact thread already exists
Lol a 36 year old geezer making threads like this is definitely shot to bits hahahaha
I think the other thread was "Kell Brook stabbed".
Haha that was years ago, where you been?
Did u see the fight tonight??... U think De Luca was someone from Tenerife??
TBH tho, jokes and stories aside, i was surprised to see Brook and his wife tonight, and to hear about his 3 kids also... Kell's closet must be like Narnia
Where next then for kell?
Could the Khan fight happen, or aim at a title and then???
He hasn't got long and I want to see his opposition improve for the next fight so Hearn better deliver
He is not shot. Zerafa is actually a pretty good fighter and Brook dominated the guy he fought tonight.
If he's in the gym and gets back in the ring within the 12-14 week time frame he said, then maybe this was just "lacking match fitness" ??
2-3 fights, could we see Kell a champ again??
He did look in great shape
He has been done for a little while now. That’s what happen when you don’t live the life. His fight against Zerafa was telling that he was done.
Brooks feet were stuck under himself a lot and the silly switching stances was unneeded.
Timing appeared there in flashes, but this was De Luca so how much that matters is VERY questionable.
The GGG fight was tough as hell but he looked like it was all coming into fruition for Kell until Spence headbutted him.
Real shame, pure talent... Hopefully he can dig out the Khan fight but i dont think Khan would want it.
Finish was very good though and showed touches of the old Kell
A little left in the Tank for 1 or 2 more Big Fights...I don't think he would win any of them but why not cash out and get paid
I honestly don't see what Khan is afraid of, Khan beats this version of Kell
