Kovalev was at the peak of his powers then, but after the Ward controversial points loss, and then the second loss, which again was controversial, his confidence in himself inside the ring seemed to diminish.
I have a feeling that Kovalev won't be as highly rated historically as he should be, as if he had beaten Ward that night, as most people thought he did, he would have been regarded P4P Number 1 by many and with full justification after a win over a great fighter like Ward.
Yeah those are the breaks sometimes...just how it goes...I think Kov could have comported himself better in the 2nd fight as well...but felt he was a bit unlucky in that one too, though not as much as fight 1...those 2 fights were always just going to be stacked against him.
He should have been up 5-2 or so imho in the 2nd fight before the stoppage, but 2 judges had it to Ward at that time as well...Kov just got set up unfortunately...and unlike GGG he didn't even really get paid for his troubles...that's the sad thing.
Kovalev Vs Ward was a robbery, all judges gave Ward round 10 when most thought Kovalev clearly won that round.
If all judges scored that round for Kovalev like they were supposed to, Kovalev would have won a UD
Yeah I just don't see a way to 7 rounds there for Ward...thus I call it a 'robbery'

I gave Kov 4-2 first 6, and Ward 4-2 second 6, though Kov won his rounds generally by a bigger margin. With Kov winning 114-113 on my card. I think I had it bang on to be honest with you. When I said dominating, I meant won the majority of the rounds.

Man you have a low bar for domination...by compubox Ward outlanded him by 6 punches in those last 6 rounds...I probably would have had it about even if I really tallied up the punches...no KDs, no hurt moments...best round of the last 6 was Kov in the 10th.
if the whole fight went the way of the first 6 rounds, 10-2 Kov would have been a very fair score.
If the whole fight went the way of the last 6 rounds, 10-2 Ward would have been an embarrassment.
Last 6 were 4-2 either way or more appropriately probably 3-3...first six was where the domination was.

GGG-Canelo 1 my score 117-111 GGG (rematch 114-114)
Wilder-Fury my score 115-111 Fury
Holyfield-Lewis 1 my score 117-111 Lewis (rematch 115-113 Lewis)
I had Kov beating Ward 114-113, but no robbery, Ward dominated the second half of the fight after Kov built up a big lead. Nash out.

Daggum kept following me around crying. You've accused me of a fighter being "my guy" and I'm the one projecting I guess.
I know when a conversation isn't going to go anywhere and when to not waste my time. Nobody here is about to change their minds. You two can stop quoting me any time now. I won't reply anymore anyway.
Dude you responded, without quoting me, to my post on here initially...so that's how this whole convo even started.
And yes you seem to side with 'your guys' when push comes to shove...no shame in that really, human nature for most of us...I think we should keep it out of boxing but hard to do that sometimes.
1) DLH was robbed vs Tito
2) Pac was robbed vs Bradley 1
3) Pac was robbed vs Horn
4) Pea was robbed vs Ramirez 1
5) Pea was robbed vs JCC
I forgot to include Pac vs Bradley, that was shocking. But it was justice in a way as I had Marquez beating Pac 117-111 in Pac vs Marquez 3 not long before the Bradley fight.
GGG-Canelo 1 my score 117-111 GGG (rematch 114-114)

What do you think are the biggest fixes and robberies in boxing history?
Paul Williams Lara
Canelo Lara
PAC Bradley 1
PAC Horn was a horrendously fixed fight
Canelo GGG 1
Roy Jones Si Hun
Mayweather Pac
Mayweather Castillo
Mayweather Maidana 1
are you talking about all those low blows? i just rewatched it. 5 low blows in about 5 seconds. not really scoring blows. maybe you can count that left hand he hits kovalev with that makes him fall into the ropes but even that was when he had kovalevs left arm wrapped. you have to really bend reality to consider that kind of stuff clean work. even if you did i dont see how thats enough.
I just watched that exchange again...really hard/impossible to tell if any of all of them were low...I don't think much really landed in there, watching it again...but the whole exchange seemed to favor Ward imho...the 'shove' at the end, while not a scoring blow, does help to frame Ward in a positive light there at the end of the round...in any event, I don't think it was nearly enough anyway.
we can't even get past first order issues so how would we ever actually discuss a fight? you know you can't argue with me due to your lack of substance on the issue so you constantly deflect. you pretend to be impartial then vehemently defend one side so badly that any point from the other side is deemed crying. why not just address the points at hand? anyone who mentions wards illegal tactics is crying but yet you have no "guy" in the fight. that literally makes no sense and damages your credibility.
Goddamn you're a weird ass person. Shut up already.
