Whenever there was a fight coming up, i used to watch all the content like 24/7, or the fight camp videos or whatever. Press conferences, interviews, training videos etc.
Now i seem to have no interest in all that anymore. I still get excited for the fights as much as ever. I usually will probably watch some of the other content on the day of the fight or something.
I think it’s probably because you can already guess what’s gonna happen or be said in most episodes, interviews, pressers.
I don’t think i’ve watched anything about the Fury v Wilder rematch except a bit of the press conference that happened to be on by chance when i was on youtube.
There is no one-stop shop for all your boxing needs anymore so you have to sift through all the garbage to find the good stuff. You don’t always have to do that though because the internet is creepy these days and remembers what you like. Just start watching whatever you can find and over time your feed will start suggesting better videos as it’s adapting to your interests.
“How do I transform my feed to resemble yours?” you may ask. Good question and thank you for asking. You can begin by searching for and watching any of the following
Rummy’s Corner
Showtime boxing
PBC boxing
DAZN boxing
Those are the essentials as it covers current fighters and fights of historical significance. From there you can slowly branch off and start finding interviewers or podcasters that you enjoy.
Rummy has a fantastic channel. I really enjoy his knowledge and analysis. I'm glad to see more people on here are giving him recognition also.
I'll be honest, I've been losing interest in boxing all together. I haven't watched a fight in weeks. This era just isn't interesting, fools worried too much about losing, garbage network crap, fanboys becoming promoter groupies, and less and less are actual fans getting the fights we want to see.
Screw it, let's just make this a bowling forum. Mods?
The content is only weak because the fights are weak. When you have good fights. You get good content like
Charlo vs Harrison
Spence vs Porter
Pacquiao vs Thurman
We have been getting ***** fights for a while now and it's making me lose interest in boxing which has always been my favorite sport.
Wilder vs Fury is the only big fight on the horizon. Then we sit another 3 months for Canelo to fight somebody we don't wanna see him fight. Then pacquiao will do the same. Then Spence will do the same. Then Crawford will do the same. Then we'll get a good unification loma/Lopez. Then more bull**** before we get another big fight to close out the year. Taylor/Ramirez maybe bivol/beterbiev
It's alot of talent and nobody stepping up.

I think it is just a part of life.
You feel excited at first but after some time get bored of it. Happens all the time in different stages of life we get attracted to different things. Also, after some time watching these, you realize you now know enough and much of the content is mere repetition, boasting, and rubbish talk which you found interesting at first but not any longer.
Boxing in general, it isn't a nationalistic thing. Those on top aren't giving us the fights we want, heck Hearn has GGG, Canelo and Andrade on DAZN and he can't deliver any combo of those fights(although canelo would be the hardest as he is with dazn but signed to Goldenboy.
Wilder is fighting Fury, so there's that. All other PBC fighters aren't doing anything right now or have anything good in the works
We have recently had Horn -v- Zerafa 1 and 2, both were pretty dramatic and what fans wanted to see and now we have Horn -v- Tszyu 2, yoohoo. The US problem does seem to be nationalistic given the promoters and who has signed with who, that does not seem to be the situation in the rest of the world. Neither does endemic ducking, I guess that in other countries fighters have to climb over each other to get international recognition.
Yeah, I only watch the fights. I don't even watch the weigh ins anymore, just check boxrec for the weights the night before. Even the stuff between the fights is just background noise TBH.
I keep up with the news because I want to be filled in on what's going to happen fight wise, and because I like talking about boxing. But thats it.
Remember back in the day when “The Ring” magazine was the only thing that mattered before the boom of Internet forums and websites. Maxboxing.com and their forums was the first time I was able to connect with real boxing fans back in early 2000’s now 20 years later it’s just more about promoters, networks and managers news than actual fighting and fights.
Network, promoter and managers fanboys need to put the pom poms down and ask for real fights
I don't watch any build up shows, press conferences, weigh-ins, etc these days. I used to watch, read, listen to everything I could.
Not so much anymore.
I keep up with the boxing news, know all the fighters and the date of the fights..so just tune in then.
I got the ESPN+ subscription, and that has been good for me. There are a bunch of interesting 30 for 30 episodes, and they have a lot of old fights available as well.
Yes but only with the American scene.

Some boxing shows I don't watch live because of endless commercials. They have more commercials than fights and they take forever to get to the fight. I tape those shows and watch them later and fast forward through all the BS and go straight to the actual fight. I even fast forward the 60 seconds between rounds. That way I can watch a 12 round fight in 36 minutes with nothing wasting my time.
It's because everybody's a hack now.
This is the bad part about not having boxing covered by real media (in the US, at least) that often.
Then we have to go to the internet, where everybody's a partisan hack in every field.
There's just stans for their favorite boxer or even worst yet, their favorite promoter.
It's one of the reasons that I've started ignoring a lot of threads on here.
