There's been ongoing rumors about hearn making the ruiz vs whyte fight. It's not a good look that ruiz fired his trainer that got him where he was.
So who wins?
Whyte or Andy?
I’d go with Whyte, I’m not sure how Ruiz gets passed Whytes jab, Ruiz really doesn’t handle them all that well....of course Whyte also looked like **** in his last 3 fights so I’m not putting a ton of stock in it.....
I think it be a pretty good fight tho
Its a fight I would like to see, makes a bit more sense for Ruiz, he needs to redeem himself pretty quickly.
Whyte beating Ruiz would help his resume but not sure it moves the needle for his career going forward that much. Joshua is already saying he would fight him again, Fury listed him as his third opponent after Wilder & Joshua, and he is already mando for Wilder's WBC belt (or Fury should he win). So it is a bit more high risk low reward for Whyte, so I would give him some credit for taking it.
If the ref had called it correctly, warned Whyte, and given Parker proper time to recover after the foul Parker likely wins the fight going away.
He was easily winning up until the headbutt, and when Whyte started to fade late Parker took over again.
I agree with you, but I don't like playing hypotheticals and what ifs. The "second" KD likely doesn't happen either, but that's a hypothetical.
That's why it's very telling that if the fight happened 100% the way it happened, just with the appropriate calls, it would be a draw. And Whyte refuses to rematch him.
Without the headbutt in that fight, it's a MD Draw.

I think Whyte wins. He has never lost since his lost to AJ. He edged out Parker while Ruiz was edged out by Parker. In fairness to Ruiz he fought in Parker territory while Whyte fought Parker at home. Still, all things considered I pick Whyte to win. He is a little better all around fighter and is always in top shape for big fights. Ruiz clearly was not in shape for the most important fight of his career, the AJ rematch.

The only reason Whyte won the Parker fight is because a headbutt was incorrectly ruled a clean knockdown.

If both came in in some sort of good shape we would be in for a decent fight. I would pick ruiz to beat whyte. If whyte comes in like he did in his last fight then he loses, regardless of ruiz shape.
