The other day, Hearn mentioned possibly changing course and doing a Joshua-Whyte rematch in 2020. If he's being honest about considering that, that means Joshua would have a chance to become interim WBC world heavyweight champion.
Hearn has also mentioned recently that he might be willing to do 50/50 now for a Joshua-Wilder fight.
So if the WBC was willing to guarantee Joshua 50/50 if he became the mandatory by beating Whyte for the interim title, is this a course Joshua should pursue?
It would be the craziest purse bid in the history of boxing. We could have our first ever $100 million or $150 million purse bid. It would be absolutely nuts.
No he didn't.
If he did,he would have signed. All paper works were ready.
Hearn conveniently left the date out of the contract, but more importantly, left out of the contract any language guaranteeing the fight was NEXT.
When Wilder demanded to know when the fight would be, Hearn admitted he had decided to do Povetkin first, and the fight with Wilder wouldn't be for another 10 months.
That's why Wilder didn't sign, because Hearn refused to keep his word about the fight being next and had decided to do Povetkin instead.
That’s like accepting a birthday or wedding invitation and not showing up.
No, it's like accepting a birthday or wedding invitation, and it turns out the invitation was just a trick, and suddenly the real date is a year later.
Frankly, I have not been impressed with Whyte's performances or his discipline of being in shape. So, I am not a big fan of him or his fighting style (quite boring to be honest.
In fairness he has been in shape for most of his fights, the last fight was on 2 weeks notice. A lot of his fights have been dramatic and I would say for the most part entertaining. But like most heavyweights in this generation you can question his quality...
I dunno man, them Saudis are f*****g minted. If they wanna see a show, they pay.
In any case, I am all for any ideas which might force Wilder to stop ducking the fight with AJ.
Sorry buddy, AJ already went on record (youtube interview) that he wasn't ready for Wilder and that's why he wasn't jumping to face him yet.
There is also ANOTHER video showing Wilder looking scared when a radio host joked that AJ will only face him if Wilder reached 50-0. He honestly looked sad as f**k believing it and thinking, crap, it's gonna be a while before I can get my hands on him. Then they joked it off and Wilder looked relieved as f**k. Facial expressions and actions can go a long way...
Joshua shouldnt be bothering with anything Wilder any more. Let Wilder come to him if he wants it cuz right now and for the last 3 years he really hasnt wanted any part of Joshua. Not his fault you can blame Shirley Winkle and Master Haymon for that, oh and Wilders parents for raising a moron.
Best chance at undisputed is via Tyson Fury. He seems more likely to take that challenge than ducker Wilder.
Do you honestly believe Ortiz X2 and Brezeale were more deserving of the Wilder fight?
He was suspended by the WBC and nobody else and the suspension was clearly not justified given that UKAD clearly stated that Whyte was not suspended and was allowed to fight Rivas. He was ultimately confirmed to be innocent.
Me believing or not about Ortiz and Breazeale chance has nothing to do with Whyte NOT being mandatory "for a crazy amount of time" which is simply not correct. Why twist my post and change the subject?
Frankly, I have not been impressed with Whyte's performances or his discipline of being in shape. So, I am not a big fan of him or his fighting style (quite boring to be honest). Regarding his PED history, it ain't spotless either particularly with this being in the UK. But it is what it is, he has been cleared so let's move over it.
At current, I would like to see the Wilder vs Fury, Fury vs Joshua and Wilder vs Joshua rather than any of them fighting Whyte. Let him fight against Ruiz or Ortiz or Dubois and if he wins, against AJ or Fury or Wilder.
Whyte is mandatory for 1 month (or 6 if you think he shouldn't have been suspended). Prior to that, he simply refused to fight eliminators and wanted to be made mandatory anyway simply based on his ranking. I would have loved that eliminator match to have been against Ortiz rather than lower-ranked Rivas. It would have been competitive.
Very true. People are not stupid. They know exactly what happened. Negotiations are supposed to reach the end goal, getting fights made. But the guy is more into blame games than anything else. The fact that the fight didn't get made then there's nothing to celebrate about, but this guy is always in celebratory mood when he talks about the Wilder/Joshua case. He thought he won. Fight didn't get made and he's acting like it's party time.
I know him long ago. hez full of lies and deceit on this forum.
Sometimes ago, he was on an a gender that hez the only one that knows exactly how much earn for his fights when he was still earning 1m+.
But now that wilder is getting a decent pay, he has closed that agenda.
He claims he is an insider in WBC camp and knows their dealings.
He also claimed he has 2 persons that usually log in with his account.
If am lieing, let him come defend himself.
He has said all sort of lies on this forum.
Nobody accused anybody of unbiased reporting.
I'm not American.
I didn't vote for Trump.
Anything else?
Sorry, when I posted that I did not realize you were the forum troll. I now know. I do not talk to people being deliberately ridiculous, as it appears you are in matters regarding Wilder's ducking.
Goodbye.

Quality response.
You do you like to lie and live in deceit and denial?
These things happened that almost everyone is aware that wilder actually sent a contract but twitter offer.
We all knew Eddie was in NY and no member if wilder agreed to meet.
We also know about 12.5m offer, 15mil offer, 100mil offer which were all declined by wilder.
The boxing world knows these things.
We also know that prior to Ruiz/AJ 2, wilder was all over the place about the undisputed, immediately AJ recaptured the titles, wilder went AWOL.
You can't deny these facts.
You are getting worse by the day.

Both sides have sent contracts. The difference is that when Wilder sent a contract for the 50 million Joshua asked for, Joshua ducked and refused to come to America. When Wilder said he'd sign to come to the UK, Joshua ducked and suddenly Wilder had to wait 10 months if he wanted the fight.

An accusation of unbiased reporting, coming from an American, a country which has a sitting president openly gagging the press - yep, that's not ironic at all.

If that's true, then Hearn should have no problem going to purse bid as he'll obviously win if you're right.
The confirmed facts make it very clear that it was Hearn ducking, not Wilder. I know for fans in the UK, it's difficult to get unbiased reporting about this subject. So I accept the possibility that you're unwilling to discuss the true events of the situation.

Because the media won't treat it as as big of an event.
Fight week press conference, the weigh in, fight week interviews, etc are all taking place overseas. Far fewer outlets will have reporters and photographers on the ground covering the fight. Your newspaper coverage is greatly reduced. Your television coverage is greatly reduced.
The final weeks of training camp are likely taking place overseas as well. Again, far fewer outlets will have reporters and photographers on the ground covering camp.
Just as important as any of that, the public doesn't consider an event as important if it's not taking place in the US and outlets greatly reduce coverage as well due to that perception of reduced interest. It can be a bit of a chicken & egg situation, but because historically overseas fights are never treated as major PPVs, when you put a fight overseas, the media doesn't treat it the same way.
If you treat the US as second fiddle, the US will treat the event as second fiddle. The US is used to being the center of the universe.
Some of that is legitimate (press on the ground), though you'd think the biggest fight in years might still attract some attention and get a load of reporters on the ground. After all, Bob was claiming until recently that they didn't need promotion - they just use broadcaster reach.
The rest is just ret arded. I'm not doubting it's true; I've learnt not to underestimate the stupidity and insularity of your average American. But still, it's ret arded.
Why do you think a PPV screened at prime US time from Saudi will do less than a PPV screened at prime US time in the US?

Because in the states, it can be a $90 or $100 PPV.
If it's an undisputed fight, it would do at least one million buys. Possibly two million. Although I personally think it'd do around 1.5 million.

Ok you lose the big Vegas gate. But you get the big foreign site fee.
