Yep I said it!
It’s the best division in boxing bar none!
It’s deep, talented, variety of styles and personalities and everyone can be beat and most importantly they’re all fighting each other!
This isn’t a cherry pick division as we saw with Hurd vs J rock and now J rock vs Rosario!
The triangle theory is gone away with in this class, no one has separated themselves which honestly
Makes it more compelling and exciting rather than one person just dominating everyone!
Let’s list the players in this division of which I’m calling “No One’s Safe” at 154 in no particular order!
-Mell Charlo
-J rock
-Hurd
-Harrison
-Rosario
-Lara
-Castano
-Lubin
-Brook
-Teixeira
-Adames
-Gallimore
Case close, anyone’s game, no divas in the division and everyone wants to
Prove themselves as the best win lose or draw!
PBC could literally run a tournament with this and people would tune in, so many great fights and rivalries!
Charlo lost to a handpicked victim. Hurd lost to a handpicked victim. Lara is old and shot. Harrison has been knocked out by a bum. J-Rock has been knocked out by a bum.
The only reason to pick them over the names you mentioned at welterweight is because they’re bigger than those guys. Although to be fair, 147 is incredibly overrated as well. It just isn’t as stupidly overrated as 154 is. 154 is bums top to bottom.
Call them what you want but this is boxing, some of the all time greats in the past have lost to “handpicked bums”, a grown man coming in with the fire & desire plus training to maximum peak condition, trained to incapacitate you in close combat to become something more can win on any given night!
You’re discrediting fighters who sacrifice a lot to get to where their at!
Whether their record is 21-4, 32-6 or 16-10, boxing is the hardest sport in the world IMO!
All these upsets makes me appreciate Floyd Mayweather and other modern legends who are throwbacks that train like title challengers and stay discipline to their craft!
All it takes is one punch to win a fight and these guys have amateur fights and then the pro’s where it’s on them and not a team that can hide your flaws if you have a bad day in team sports!
The one unified champion just got destroyed by a 25-1 underdog. It’s one of the biggest betting upsets in boxing history.
Said champion won the title by upsetting a guy he was supposed to lose to.
The WBC champion is 1-1 in his last two fights against a guy he was supposed to kill. The guy he was supposed to kill has been knocked out by someone who’s incredibly average.
The WBO champion was getting fed to an undefeated prospect and won by upset to get the title.
When the best fighters in the division can’t beat victims that are hand selected for them, it’s a bad division.
Ok, but you never answered my question!
What’s your definition of a good division and what’s the best division in boxing?
Jeff Horn? I thought he was fighting at 160?
Anyways he got Zerafa problems and gotta get past Tim Tszyu which is no given!
He don't have Zerafa problems cause he just beat him at 160.
Once he beats Tim he will be coming for a world title at 154.
Plus the HORNET will be making some noise in this division in 2020.
Get over it, Jeff Horn is a third rate fighter who isn't capable of beating world class fighters without home cooking.
Its the b level division. Altho got lots of pbc fighters so that makes it automatically the best for a lot of posters
Another racially driven post by the king of that bu!!shyte. If Al Haymon were Caucasian, you'd be making post after post about how PBC was the best thing that ever happened to boxing.
Plus the HORNET will be making some noise in this division in 2020.

There isn’t one fighter at 154 who would be ranked in the top 10 at 147 or 160.
You and I know that’s a bold faced lie!
147 top 10
1.Spence
2.Pacquiao
3.Crawford
4.Thurman
5.Porter
6.Garcia
7. Ugas
8.Lopez
9.Lipinets
10.Dulorme
154 top 10
1.Charlo
2.Rosario
3.Williams
4.Hurd
5.Lara
6.Harrison
7.Castano
8.Lubin
9.Teixeira
10.Adames
Now let’s break this down
You can’t possibly believe guys like Jermell Charlo, Hurd, Lara, Harrison and J rock if they all could make 147 healthy wouldn’t be able to compete with guys like Lipinets, Lopez, Ugas, Dulorme or even with Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman?!
If you think they can’t beat them then you don’t know your boxing!
Mediocre division full of fighters with bad chin. No potential big fights at all.
Go on, tell me what’s your definition of a non-mediocre division!
You know nothing of what it’s like when a grown man with 8oz gloves on who trains their body to maximum peak condition for full contact battle to hit you in the face!
It’s boxing, anything can happen!
Yep I said it!

It just clearly isn’t a good division.
How can you say that when the fights in that division produced a couple Fight of the year candidates and 2 upset of the year candidates!?
Your definition of good is unsettling, matter fact what’s your definition of a good division in boxing?
I still prefer 147 cuz the names are bigger, the fights are bigger & even the lesser known guys on the way up still are bigger but 154 has been a hardcore fans I wish these mfers would start fighting more often division of choice for a long time & it's finally begun to take off in 2019 & 2020 & beyond is only feeling more fun with what could be in store.
I respect your opinion, 146 definitely have the stars, I agree but overall the depth of talent is more at 154!
Pacquiao has about 2 more fights left if that
Crawford isn’t sure of who he wants to fight minus Spence!
Spence is still recovering and we’re not sure how he’ll respond to getting punched!
Porter is in a position where no one wants to fight him unless they have to!
Danny is waiting for a big money fight
Thurman is an enigma cuz he only wants big money fights
Ugas is on the road back to another title shot
Lipinets is still on the road to a title shot
Lopez is still on the road to another title shot
Vs
At 154 they’ve nearly all fought each and aren’t holding out cuz you can’t cherry pick and get away with it!
No ones safe at 154 whereas at 147 there are more safer options!
Not sure if you're trolling or not...
No trolling but real truth!
At 154 it’s extremely competitive which makes for great boxing and no corruption since there’s no stars in that division!
Nearly everyone is a 50-50 or 55-45 type of fights, no one is getting dominated each time out in every fight!
In other divisions either the best isn’t fighting each other or the fights aren’t compelling cuz we know the outcome before the first bell even rings, but at 154 no ones safe!
I don't agree. It is a decent weight class but I think both 147 and 160 have some better fighters than anyone at 154. I think Jermell is probably the best at 154 and I thought his only loss was a robbery. Hurd showed Lara is not the best. Williams showed Hurd is not the best. Jermall and the new champ showed Williams is not the best. Welterweight has Crawford, Spence and Pacquiao who are on most top 10 pfp best lists especially Crawford and Spence. All 3 of them are better pfp than anyone at 154 in my opinion. GGG is still a top 10 pfp best fighter and he and Jermall, Andrade and Dervy are all better fighters in my opinion than anyone in the slightly smaller 154 pound division.
"Best" in this context is vague. I think it's definitely one of the most interesting divisions because of what has already been mentioned here, and that adds entertainment value, however, it may not be the division with the best fighters in the world. That is still very much up for debate.
154 brings a nice balance between speed and power, enough KO's but not predictable , enough speed but not too much that important action can be missed. A great weight division that demonstrates the sweet science to perfection.
