His best years were well behind him before Canelo was ever a possibility, man. Dude was near 34 years old before he got big enough for anyone worth money to care. Probably part of the reason he did waste so much time waiting on Canelo. Main things he could have done different were fighting BJS and fighting Derevyanchenko instead of Vanes, but honestly it was too little to make much difference anyway. Oh. And not fighting Rolls. That ish was just a waste of time. GGGs just one of them 'what if' stories. Rest of the criticisms levelled at him are mainly bad luck, and bad politics. problem is floyd had many fights before that to fight margaritro and he didn't. You're lying. Many means "a large number of." Floyd only had two welterweight fights before buying out his contract. Mitchell to test out the weight, having just won a 140 pound title in his last fight, and Judah, which was a much bigger fight than Margarito. Margarito didn't even have a recognized title at the time and Judah was a much bigger name and much bigger draw. he accepted less money to fight sharmba mitchell and zab judah. You're lying again. He fought for less money for those fights than Arum offered for Margarito LATER, but he was guaranteed a minimum of $6 million for Judah and Arum wasn't offering that much for Margarito at that point. then demanded 20 million to fight hoya to fight marg and top rank said no we cant do that. So he bought out his contract and got $25 million to fight De La Hoya instead of the $20 he asked Top Rank for. You're just a Floyd hater falling for the Top Rank propaganda. I addressed the 154-168 comment in another post...I don't really see the pushback there against it...again, all it is really saying is 'hey we will fight anyone from these weights'...guys say stuff like that all the time...that doesn't mean that if you don't fight some random guy from those weights, that you are full of sh.it? ward made like 7 mil for the 2nd kov fight....at that point he isnt going to take less money for challenging fights....the kov fights both sort of bombed from a sales perspective...i dont think anyone was in a rush to push his pay to 8-10 mil a fight, for big/challenging fights, which beterbiev would have been from a pure fight perspective....but beterbiev didnt even have the name or exposure of kovalev at that point...if someone had said "weve got a 10 mil paycheck for you to fight beterbiev" im willing to bet ward would have likely done it....but that was highly unlikely....beterbiev wasnt big enough to warrant that....wards ppv hadnt done well...and ward wasnt taking a pay cut unless you were giving him an easy opponent......retirement made sense....

Thanks man good posts...nice chatting with you some...I think Ward ended up facing Chad Dawson next after the Dirrell stuff...so not a bad fight there...I think the weight stuff in that fight was unfortunate but it is what it is...felt bad for Dawson but he signed the contract. I thought Chad for both the titles and shortly after he dropped it and fought la Bomba but that's my shotty memory telling me that haha . Good chatting with u too

Nelo's shots appeared to be stronger than Kov's in that fight though too, which was surprising/impressive....GGG is getting older and appears on the decline, while Canelo appears to be improving...so yeah all that bodes well for Nelo, net/net. I disagree there in general with your comments...but those are your opinions, and we are all entitled to an opinion.
