Rap music uses racial epithets all the time and on purpose. It was meant to condition black people to normalize the demeaning words and incorporate them into daily life. Then it lends itself to further racial divides between whites/blacks because it erases the true racial nature of the word(s) themselves because black people see it as a normal part of culture when it's used but it is still used as a painful reminder of the racial divides that this country once had if and when a white person or non-black person ever uses those words.
It's a tool of division introduced and normalized by the entertainment industry to control people. It can be used to create hate between whites and blacks while forcing those who were harmed by racially motivated crimes to accept the hate of those who oppressed them. Now the evilness of those who are racist is part of the culture of those who were oppressed by racism to begin with. We are left to debate how words are used and the thoughts of a person using words, etc. as to whether they are a racist person or not a racist person.
Why not view the words as racist/bad across the board and just stop using them all together?
If you cannot see how this system works and why it was put into place, it's time to wake up. The sooner we all learn to work together, live together and see who the real enemies are, the sooner we can work as one people to fix the real issues of the world. Why doesn't inner city poverty EVER go away? The system in place wants that poverty, wants that chaos.
Very true. I always say that if a number of people are offended by something, that was said outside of that racial group, targeting that racial group, then chances are, it is racist. When I see racial remarks against white people, black people, mexicans, pinoy's, etc., here on Boxing Scene......then I report it. Every racial group has bad people in them but too many great things to admire about each culture....their suffering, their past and present culture, their food, the ways they contribute to society, music, art, dance, theater...too many great people from all groups doing great things. And yet some people cannot stand a racial group. On the subject of blacks, I see so many in society making a huge difference in inner cities trying to take what little they have assembling that into something that they can share to build their communities. We hear more about crime than we do about the countless people making positive changes because thats how the media and news works. I'm not black but I lived in East Oakland and I saw communities thrive with what they had. Same with all cultures....so many great things about each culture to admire but racists are blind and stupid and rarely attempt to understand anyone outside of their group. Hate destroys.
What I don’t understand is why you racist pricks watch a sport thats dominated by black Americans anyway? Maybe hockey is a little more your speed.

It is not about the use of the word black, it is the context it is used in and the emotions behind the word that dictate the intent and demeaning involved.

I don't get it either but they might be too dumb to realize they're racists to begin with.
We live in a world today where not given token awards and nomination to a black person is considered racist.
We live in a world today where a certain group of people who've already got a leg up in life don't realize things are already not fair. I'm not black but I recognize the types. I've seen it my whole life.....
We all know what people mean when they call black people ghetto, especially the ones doing it here
Big Facts... And i told them it was racially offensive.... ( not specially racist) but its offensive.
Aint nobody stupid!
And they fav. Thing is to respond to you and try to argue with you for being offended or pointing it out.
But NEVER say anything to them.... Now all of sudden they can't read or comprehend.

calling a black person black is also racist nowadays, I wonder why I don't see asians complaining about ***** like thisIt is not about the use of the word black, it is the context it is used in and the emotions behind the word that dictate the intent and demeaning involved.
I think people suspect race comes into things sometimes but most people are chill. My spouse and I are interracial. White/black
Her grandparents were cool and so were mine. Most people are good people and don’t care about that.
I don’t know why but so many times in these comment threads I will see race bleed through - we all are jus trying to get on with our shiy though and make life happen.
Just my two cents, peace.
