It's that time of year again folks.
This time 10 years ago, the legendary "How many years are there in a decade" was made by Yessir when he was under the impression that the year 2010 was still part of the previous decade.
The poster SUBZER0ED has gone one shade more retarded and seems to think that 2009 was part of the last decade. When of course anyone with a literal brain cell is aware that the last decade began on Jan 1st 2010 and ended on December 31st 2019.
So, the question is; how many years are there in a decade? Are there 11 or 10?
Imagine being so stupid you think 2010-2020, which would be 11 years, is a decade.
A decade, by definition, is 10 years. It's not our fault you failed elementary school math.
This thread and others just illustrates how utterly ret@rded much of Manny's fan base is and always will be. How is this even a discussion?
Here is another way to look at it. 1 year=12 months
Jan 1, 2010-Dec 31, 2019=120 months
Jan 1 2009,-Dec 31, 2019=132 months.
Now divide 132 by 12 and tell us what you get?
OP is stupider than the people thinking a decade is '09-'19 just for starting this thread.
This guy is so retarded he can't even spot a parody thread :dunce:
Or you can do it
1991-2000
2001-2010
2011-2020
But obviously if there handing out fighter of the decade already, that means they’re looking at it as
2010-2019
No the contention IS the number of years!!!
2009-2019 is ELEVEN YEARS.
What 10 year span the decade ranges from is irrelevant.
You can't include wins from 2009 AND 2019 for a decade of work like the idiot claimed because that is ELEVEN years worth of fights.
My point of contention isn't the number of years, it's when we start counting. I hope that's easier :D (By my logic above, you've incorrectly included 2010 in the 2019 decade for example)
2000-2009
2010-2019
2020-2029
R u morons that dumb?
not as dumb as the morons who think decade 1 had 9 years.
however, no biggie. The concept of 80s 90s, 10s is great too (which is what you mean).
The contention isn't the number of years, it's at what point do you start counting. By the calendar year, our decade should not end until 31/12/2020 as we didn't start until 2011. This is the point I very clearly made in my example that you cut out. If you have a different theory, share it or stop being so damned obtuse

Only on NSB would this be a debatable topic lol. This sh^t is like the flat Earth debate for boxing fans.
Feel like a MIT graduate up in this forum sometimes.
but dumbness should be allowed to exist, that means we get to celebrate end of decade (and millenium if you are old enough) twice.
Double bubble.
Its not. Theres either 10 years in a decade or you suck at definitions cuz the definition of a decade is 10 f#cking years. This ain't THAT complicated of a concept.

This is actually a much more interesting question than people seem to realise. I actually have no idea what the rule is but there isn't a sure logic path to either way of doing it.
Because the period from 2010-2019 is 10 years you idiot :lol1:
Count the years;
2009 - 1
2010 - 2
2011 - 3
2012 - 4
2013 - 5
2014 - 6
2015 - 7
2016 - 8
2017 - 9
2018 - 10
2019 - 11
Now count these years;
2010 - 1
2011 - 2
2012 - 3
2013 - 4
2014 - 5
2015 - 6
2016 - 7
2017 - 8
2018 - 9
2019 - 10
Which one equals to 10? I have put the numbers by the side to make it easier.
You need to remember that we didn't start from year 0 in the Gregorian calender. It went BC 1 to AD 1. So the very first year was 1, so to reach the first decade the count has to reach 10. You are including the year 10, into the next decade.
Year 1 = 1
Year 2 = 2
etc
Year 9 = 9
Year 10 = 10
End of Decade
Year 11 = 1
Year 12 = 2
etc
Year 19 = 9
Year 20 = 10
End of Decade
So the year 2010, should be included in the decade of 2001-2010
If the calendar started at year 1 then yes it would have been in the last decade. Last decade would be 2001-2010, current decade is 2011-2020, next decade would start in 2021.
Well firstly that isn't how modern history looks at decades. But that's a moot point anyway.
The poster claimed that wins in 2009 and 2019 should go toward the last decade despite those wins being over 10 years apart.
So how can the entirety of 2009 and 2019 be in the same decade when they are 11 years apart?
That's the point here. Not when the decade starts.
We are looking for clarity.
To clarify, was 2009 in the last decade?
