If you were managing Spence, how would you handle his return?

The only acceptable 'tune-up fight' for Spence here is taking on his mandatory challenger which should be EASY if he's still as good as he was. That eliminates complications when they do further unifications in the future. If he wants more soft touches or he's not yet ready for challenges, fine but vacate the belts so that others can be given a chance to make unifications. Belt hostaging should not be allowed in here regardless of what excuses they may be

Put him in with a soft touch. Someone who can box a bit but isn't a hard puncher. That will allow him to test his reflexes and shake off any rust. No need for a chin check first fight back.

Forget about drunk driving and Ferraris. Spence already had lost something in his last fight against Porter, in spite of the win. That was the kind of fight that leaves both participants with scars. Think Hagler vs Mugabi. Or Bradley vs Provodnikov. I don't think he'll be back on the very top for all of the above AND the car accident. Incidentally, anyone notice a trend with the "hard fight first/road accident later" pairing? I'm thinking of Chico Corrales and Paul Williams.

He needs to face someone who's been around for a while, but probably doesn't have much time left. Someone to easily build a game-plan for. Hence, Josesito being a good tune-up. Im not talking as his manager. As a fan my wants is the best vs the best as soon as possible and as many meaningful fights as possible. According to his trainer he’s looking the same as ever in training. Just the fact that he’s been in training so soon bodes well. I would put him to fight some top5-10 guy and then immediately a top dog.

This is the perfect time to get a mandatory out of the way if necessary. If not, then he should face a top-10 guy. Top-5 if he truly feels like he is all the way back.
