He had his 15 minutes of fame but as many asked, "is he letting it all go to his head?"
Wlad Klitschko said after Fury's implosion that success tests a man...it tested Ruiz and the Mex/American failed miserably. Not only was he in the worst shape of his life, he lied through the press tour about how well he was training, about the weight he was losing, about the tactics he and his team had in place.
The guy did nothing but walk around the ring eating jabs and right hands and accumulating cuts and bruises. There was no point, not even a single minute of a single round where he was competitive. Not one.
Ruiz will be remembered as Douglas, as Rahman, as McCall...so much for all that talk, they are one hit wonders. It is sad because Ruiz tries his best to play the nice, humble guy yet eats all day and parties all night. All about family though :dunce:
The man is done.
AJ had the right style for him to capitalize on and AJ underestimated him. AJ made massive adjustments the second fight so even if Ruiz came in at 245, he would still need to make the same massive level adjustments in being able to cut off the ring.
Ruiz isnt beating Wilder or Fury and he isnt beating AJ even if they had a 3rd match, which there is no demand for.
Ruiz's next career move is calling out AJ, accusing him of ducking the rubber match and using that attention to promote whatever bum they can line him up with.
Ruiz is done. His work ethic is non-existent and he will ride off into the sunset rich, chubby and diabetic.
He wont be rich for long...
These threads are so dumb. Sure he came in out of shape and unprepared but that doesn't mean Ruiz is done.
A motivated in shape Ruiz is a problem for anyone. Hopefully he understands now that he needs to get in shape to win and does exactly that from here on out.
And btw Al Haymon if you're reading this.... Please make Ruiz vs Kownacki next on Fox.
Ruiz was motivated against parker and had his moments but failed to close the show. There are other similar examples throughout his career.
His management team doesn't even strike while the irons hot, after parker he should have fought the likes of whyte, chisora, ortiz, Jennings...anyone of name but ended up fighting nobodies.
A failure on all accounts who in 5 years time will cry at a wasted career.
I’d give you green but I don’t have any right now.
Best post I’ve seen on the subject. Very sad.
Thanks man

Exactly. You preceded me on this. The guy is a candidate for a heart condition at a young age.

When I say hes done, I mean as a title challenger. He might get a paycheck v wilder but nothing other than that.
... not even that... because he never was a "title challenger" in the first place... he only was a late, late replacement...
He is far from done and in a far better position than he was before he got the late call for June 1st.
He has an excellent chin and will provide stiff competition for almost all the top heavies. He is ultimately too small though when coming up against the really tall guys.
Ruiz is capitalizing on all the pssy he could never get as a fat mexican man...
He simply allowed his backed up sexual rage to get the better of him and could not for the life of him, avoid the whore$ and the partying.
"Fat lesbian-looking Mexican man hits lotto...details on the next Oprah." Basically...
You guys want a good laugh ?
I believe it was Ray " boom boom " Mancini who said " Ruiz is built like the Perfect heavyweight " in an interview.
Boom boom will say anything for a paycheck.
He can still fight guys like Ortz and Kownacki. A win over either of them would probably get him a title shot with Wilder. Hell he can even be in fun fights with guys like Brazeale, Arreola or Charles Martin in tuneup fights. Still opportunities to make some money and fight decent guys. The wilder fight is still in reach for him.
Dont agree, a chin like that has always been OP in the heavyweight division, he has other good attributes too. It depends on how comfortable he gets from this second huge paycheck. If he stays motivated, he'll have plenty more 7 figure pay days and he will definitely be a factor, IF he stays motivated
He'll suit as a PBC cherry for Wilder in the future to make Beyonce look a killer.
Would probably go all wrong though, even last nights fat Andy destroys Widler.
He's not done, there's plenty of good fights for him.
Fury takes him to school.
He could beat Deyonce if he takes his power. He could be in great fights against others in the division too.
I don't think he could ever beat Fury or AJ again but he's got a chance against anyone else.
