I’d take these HW Chins to handle Wilder’s right:
Not go down:
Muhammad Ali
Go down but get up on steady feet before 9:
Oliver McCall
Randall Cobb
Ray Mercer
Nikolai Valuev
David Tua
Thoughts?
Vitali only fought half way out old Lewis though. Where is a wilder on his resume? The biggest power puncher he may have fought was corrie and corrie rocked wobbled and hurt him. Vitali gets too much praise for his weak level of competition ......
I agree, and Sanders by then was old, overweight and undertrained.
Still almost..
A few years earlier, likely KO for Corrie.
Imagine...both brothers.
George Chuvalo could probably take Wilders best punch.
Chuvalo would take Wilder's best punch and not go down.
But as we saw vs Frazier and Foreman, prob his face would get too damaged to fight on.
I think prime vitali klitchko could take wilder's power and still be standing. That dude is has a steel chin.

That's what I'm saying. I wouldn't have been able to go through that.
In that episode of “Holmes on Homes,” George was hanging out in his house with his girlfriend who was much younger than him. I was like, “Check out George.” Lol Knowing what he’s been through in his life, I was inspired. Indomitable spirit.
I know. I found out about that long after it happened, and sometime after I watched the documentary. I couldn’t believe it. Frankly, it would be too much for me to bear. The very thought of it makes me shudder. Some very rare people are unbreakable. George is one of them. God bless him.

Guy is too tough. He's watched his wife and children all die.

Ali had a p4p chin why is this even up for debate?
The thing is it's not like Wilder is taking every fighter he KO'd out early, a lit of his KO's have been late.
Who is to say some of these guys mentioned wouldn't have Wilder out within a few rounds, especially given how apparently easy it seems to be to outbox him
Lol NYC gets everything. Haha But this was back in 2009, while I was in Austin, Texas. I see George is still alive and kicking at 82 years old, by the way. One tough hombre.

You live in Buffalo now or something bro? I didn't think NYC would still get Canadian TV shows :lol1:

Oh, wow, man. Very cool. I’ve been a fan of his since watching the documentary “The Last Round: Chuvalo Vs Ali.” A few years ago, he appeared on the HGTV program “Holmes on Homes.” George was his usual charismatic self, and not one bit punchy. Incredible, when you consider the punishment he’s taken in and out of the ring.

They breed em' tough up here lol. I spoke to George a couple years ago, guy isn't even punchy. It's nuts.

Imagine having the best chin in boxing history. Knowing you'll endure the pain of a million punches in your life, none strong enough to put you out of your misery. It's a heavy burden to carry. I'd cry too.
That was a very philosophical post. But honestly, I’ve known you to be quite philosophical, Mr. Wilder!
McCall was well known for crying coming to the ring. It was a habit.

mccall would not go down. mccall would almost certainly beat wilder unless he started crying again. actually i would still pick crying mccall over wilder
Haha he will never live down that crying during the fight.
Damn right. Beat me to it. I’m surprised it took so long for his name to come up. George had an unrivaled jaw and an unshakable soul. Tough as nails, inside and out.

It's more proven, that's for sure. McCall is rightfully considered one of the GOAT chins but he did not get hit that much and never really took any beatings. Ali took some of the worst beatings you'll see and didn't get dropped even when he was way past it. In his physical prime he really only got dropped once by an ATG punch at the end of a grueling fight and got up quickly on steady legs.
Which time are you talking about? Frazier? He got dropped by lesser punchers twice before he even fought Liston for the title. Dundee was messing with gloves in the corner to buy Ali time because he was so dazed.
George Chuvalo. A certainty. Never knocked down in his career, not even by a prime Foreman nor by Joe Frazier.
And never knocked out by a chain of terrible tragedies in his life.
The toughest of them all. Wilder would fracture his hands against Chuvalo's chin.

Oh yes his chin was something... I forgot about him as I wrote my list. Thanks for your reply
