Interesting question from Fat Dan about what Wilders mindset was on losing the rounds.
He says he wasn't thinking about the fact he was losing rounds because he has what others dont have and that's great power.
He says he doesn't think about if he is winning the round because he doesn't want his mind to be clouded.
Also admits most guys do win rounds against him but he says he knows that sooner or later the KO will come.

Don't ever put all your eggs in the same bag. Remember there is going to be someone who is going to win all rounds against you and you might knock him down and he will rise to hit you back. Then you will loose the fight in the eyes of everyone except for the judges you bought.
I am just sayin'
Fans hated boring techincal decisions now complaining about less technical knock outs, at the end of the day you all are going to complain either way, unless your fav fighter does it, then its amazing
You have to be perfect for 12 rounds, fury almost did it, not many of these current hws will, unless they catch him first... Wilder he seems more patient these days as well leaving less openings to get caught, but he can be hit so....
I don't think Wilder is that skilled but its hard to argue with his mindset. I liked what he told Dan-he wins fights using his style not trying to be textbook.
If it were me training a fighter, I would prefer he have more skill, defense and ring IQ. That said, Wilder is right-what he has you can't teach.
It’s a unique approach. Few others in the history of boxing could even consider it. I liked Deontay from early on. I like him more all the time. I think he’s good for the sport. Too bad he doesn’t seem to get more attention.
He started gaining attention after Ortiz fight, all thanks to his inability to take risks earlier in his career.
This dude is scary, joshua will avoid him again if he wins against ruiz, wilder will ko him stiff with a jab and its not a joke you seen deontays power
I hope he boxes more in the fury rematch, it’s not easy to land that 1 big one on fury so he is gonna need to set it up. Just use your damn jab and footwork
I think its quite an interesting approach, however i don't think it will age well. He is looking and awaiting for very specific moments, pulling the trigger on only specific moments will get harder and harder as his reflexes fade. Sure he will have the power, but if he's not throwing any kind of volume to increase the likelihood, I think you see him losing a 12 round decision as his first loss.

Deal! Likewise let us know when "M's doh" becomes an intelligent, relevant response to criticism of one's idols instead of lazy autopilot fangirl ducklips
As a boxer he's going to be outclassed against many of the top fighters in the division, but his speed and power is exceptional even when you look back in history.
So his strategy is as far as I'm concerned, spot on. Basically he sucks, but he's not human so he can win with his cheat athleticism anyway.
And it's definitely entertaining to watch. The excitement of the impending knock(down/out) that can happen at any moment keeps me engaged. It's the polar opposite of watching a guy like Lomachenko or Mayweather who are brilliant boxers and make everything look good for 12 rounds.
That's why they put him in with sickly or old men or pillow punchers. That's why you never seen a wlad fight or Parker or AJ or Whyte to fresh and too fit.
DUCKKKKKKK SQUAAAAAAAD.
Even Mike Tyson at the height of his prime ran into opponents he just couldn't knock out.
Wilder doesn't have that problem.
But that happened when Tyson was fighting at unification level. Everyone else got knocked out.
You could argue that Wilder has stepped up once at that kind of level, versus an ex Champion in Fury. Didn't get the knockout and deserved to lose.
We need to see him at unification level. Fighting champions - not guys he claims could have been champions but never proved it
The problem he'll have is that if he doesn't get the KO, he won't be able to grind out the win... unlike the proper boxers he's being compared to.
Yeah we know, it shows. You can talk up the ungodly power until you're blue in the face; 2 seconds of excitement in 20-40 minutes (the rest of which usually consists of Wilder being outboxed to varying degrees) does not in any way translate to an "exciting" fighter in general. He's basic and boring as **** and I have bowel movements that are more interesting on a near daily basis; deal with it. Aside from blindly allegiant PBC fukwits, eeryone else seems to have a pretty good grip on what they're looking at and are appropriately underwhelmed.

You made me put Yusaf mack as a sig lmao
:lol1::lol1::lol1: I remember how pissed off people were having to look at that, good to see you knocking around bro
Your not dr.kewl hair anymore? 😪
Holy **** :lol1: how did you figure out that was my old username?
The Dr died, and was reborn. I'm due a rebrand again tbh.
You got me. My all-consuming sex-hate for Deontay has nothing to do with the fact he's simply sort of a ****ty boxer. That's just a smokescreen I throw up when I'm not busy eating 12 peanut butter sandwiches and thinking about the smell of Wilder's tightest jeans with teary eyes. You're the therapist I never knew I needed, thanks for the breakthrough
HeHe I made you cry...GOOD!!
But the propagandists at the TV networks are....they had this big punching guy up while landing nothing. Not a diss on Wilder though. Chin and Power can take you a long way, ask Mayorga. From the streets of Nicaragua to the world stage with 0 skill.

Mayorga's career trajectory graph. He's almost back on the streets at this point isn't he?
