Genuine question... if Wilder takes this style forward and abandons any sense of boxing and scoring would you pay to watch?
So far it's been intriguing to watch him as the champ getting outboxed by underdogs. And with his finishing power you're always watching and waiting for that moment he can bring.
But I don't buy this "people just want to see knockouts" stuff. I want to see some boxing.
It could get pretty old pretty quick in my opinion.
fans would have been disappointed paying for that fight.
they saw nothing for 7 rounds, one quick punch and it's all over.
al haymon is fleecing the boxing fans....ruining the sport.
people want to see real fights, not choreographed bs.
Social media age. The knockout will go viral on Facebook etc. Deontay's reputation enhanced.
But for people who actually pay to watch the fights, I just can't see how that's worth it.
What next? Someone goes in with the same style and they just circle each other for 8 rounds. One lands and it's over. Doesn't sound much like entertainment to me.
