1st Donaire fought a great fight, and showed an UNREAL chin and toughness. This was a career redefining performance for a guy who was already a lock for HOF. I heard a quote once that said" perseverance is not a marathon its many short races one after another" I thought "courage" would have been a better word. Everyone who has done some fighting whether in ring or not knows you get to a point where you know your not made of glass. You also get confidence in knowing how you will react once the "fight or flight" felling comes. That being said you don't just become brave and not fell fear anymore. Everytime you still have to battle fear, and if its tough you battle your desire to keep going. The reason I bring this up is Donaire made sooooo many decisions in that fight, not to just keep fighting, but to still try and win. That being said for ONE moment around 1:35 of rd 11 Donaire made a dec to stop. The ref was right in his face, and Donaire head was clear and the ref counts 8...9...10 and THEN Donaire try's the jump up at 11 thing. I cant believe im not hearing one writer bring up the fact he was counted out in the 11th. I'm in no way putting down Donaire who like I said showed a HUGE heart, but how the hell does so many people seem to miss that he was KOed in 11th? I have no doubt Inoue won the fight, but Donaire with his courage won the night, but he was KOed in 11th and that's a fact.
Didnt think of Bute-Andrade's ending in that manner. I need to rewatch that ending. Regardless, the referee did a bad job in this fight just like Bute-Andrade since they both stalled the fight tô allow the tighter to recover. We have yet to see a writer with balls point out incompetencies in major fights like this one.
Agree 100% with everthing. Yea no doubt the ref tried to cheat for the home guy Bute. It ended up hurting Bute because so many people feel the same way. If you get a chance rewatch that ending.
Even Donaire looked surprised. I will say this though most of the time when a guy breaks(even for a sec) he don't get it back, Donaire did. One part I disagree with is the Bute fight. Now NO DOUBT the ref TRIED to cheat, but when Bute went down there was 8-11 sec left(cant remember exact) and the clock does not stop during a KD. After the count the fight was over, and all Bute needed to do was get up. Watch it again and you will see Andrade had NO TIME left. The ref was trying to give him extra time, but it was not needed. Also even though the clock can run out during a count the timekeeper NEVER rings bell until the ref waves the fight on. So that's why there was no ringing bell, but rewatch that part and you will see the fight was over.

Here we go again with that internet tough guy type chit. Grappling is for legit ****sexuals and women tbh. But, if I ever trained in grappling; I would easily smash up on you bro. You would get armbarred so fast; you would be crying uncle. We would never hear about you from these parts ever again, my DUDE! Donaires' hooks would be absolutely nothing to me. I would brush them off like nothing, and Donaire would have no choice but to retire and open a sushi restaurant like Bradley did.
Hahahahaha
Agree, the ref blew it! Why did he chest bump Inoue before Donaire was down?
As for boxing writers missing it, I'm surprised you're not used to you to the terrible coverage of boxing by now. Most of these people operate as PR for the fighters and the boxing establishment.
Agree. Yea with most writers it does not surprise me because the level of professionalism is clearly not what it used to be when I growing up. Also Donaire is a fave of many people(me too), but as writer's they need to print the facts. I did think at least one or two would say something, but outside the most biased writer in the sport dougie fisher(credit where its due) there were "crickets". Because of the way Donaire fought(like an animal) I knew this would not be a popular thread, but glad to hear some keeping it real.
yes it was longer than 10 count for sure but who's to say nonito couldn't have beaten the count anyways if ref had started counting earlier?
i thought it was smart for nonito to run away after the body shot stalling the count by at least 2
could've been a strategy in times like that similar to diego corrales spitting out his mouthpiece vs castillo
The difference between this and other long counts is the ref actually said TEN. Other's I agree if the ref is behind on count you never know if the guy could/would get up(Tyson v Doug, Demp v Tunney). In this fight the ref was right in his face, and counted 8...9..10. You can hear it clearly if you watch it again. I was at home watching by myself(4 in morning) so I could hear it clearly.
We are all fans of Donaire for sure especially for going the distance with Inoue, but with the help of the referee of course. This long count is really bad because it's obvious the referee was favoring Donaire in this one, even Inoue waves his hands in surprise when he sees the referee count to ten and Donaire STILL doesn't get up. We all missed out on a knockout, similarly to how Librado Andrade was screwed from winning the title against Bute.

Good videos man; it's true, where was Inoue when Rungvisai, Cuadras, Rungvisai, and others were dominating 115? He ducked all those dudes!
Lmao u sound like a little ass kid screaming about Instagram likes.
I could give a rats ass. But continue you "making waves" just remember to do the same in "real life" clown.
...."making waves" OMFG LMFAO
You just a hater bro, social media is the new future. The more clout you get on social media; the better off you will be. This is the truth!
People want to pretend Donaire "had something left" for some reason. I assume it's the same people that had this hype job Inoue on their p4p list. Donaire didnt have anything left he just looked good to y'all because he was fighting a very overrated limited fighter.
Inoue should've stopped Donaire in the 11th. Donaire was already shot and gassed, and the monster was exposed when he didn't KTFO Old AZZ Donaire, especially after he already dropped him with a body shot a few rounds earlier. This will always be a huge asterick in Inoues' career.

I was pretty amped up during the fight but re-watching round 11 you can clearly see the ref put out his two full hands indicating the count of 10. Kinda weird but I can see how it flew under the radar a bit. You can tell Inoue is a true warrior because he never brought up the long count and won't talk about it for 5 months after their fight *cough* Wilder. Though he got the W so no real reason to whine one way or the other.
I thought ref was going to wave the fight off when he jumped in front of Inoue while Donaire was still on his feet
He was just showing some pity on old Donaire. But, it was kinda funny and a bit sad ngl watching Donaire do the shuffle then drop to one knee. I got to hand it to the old man for being able to get up from that. I hope he saving that payday inoue got him!
