Dumb matchmaking. Doesn't need to be tested for his debut but could actually put a real life living opponent in with him who can fight back.
I had no problem with the opponent. But at least they should had finished the 8 count and let him stand up. It was like the first sign of trouble they were going to stop it.
Totally unnecessary
Perhaps true, but he's the son of the legend anyhow.
I think most true boxing fans are use to seeing sons of legend's have lackluster careers with the exception of VERY few.
...and most boxing fans won't really have a decent assumption as to one's skill level until after 5-10+ fights and until they face a true test/credible opponent... regardless of whether the boxer is the son of a past pro/legend or not.
He came out swinging to an outclassed bum. The minute the bum hit the canvass the ref waved it off and the bum was complaining of the stoppage.
Dumb stoppage.

OK, I see. But don't you think it was stopped way too early ?
Not really no. He was getting battered from the very first shot and had no answers or defense. They could have let him get up and get knocked down again but what was the point really? To make him look spectacular vs total garbage opponent? I think they should stop more fights that are total mismatches but that's more of an amateur rule.

Theres the thread I was talking about
I made lots of comments on it and said the kid they matched him with was a guaranteed win because he was so bad and I posted his debut fight where he got knocked out and yeah... It was last week and nothing too notable so we have all moved on.
