knowledgeable observers said that Golovkin was over-rated YEARS ago
g-strings denied it... insisting that Golovkin was great
trainers/fighters/historians are now saying that Golovkin was over-rated
g-strings still deny it... insisting that Golovkin is great
Sanchez will retire as a trainer, and write his biography... telling everything about why Golovkin avoided so many top opponents...
g-strings will still deny it... insisting that Golovkin is great
:lol1::lol1:
but, Golovkin did not say that... and neither did Max...
one of Golovkin's excuse-making moron fans said it :lol1:
I went back and checked he said it was a draw in the ESPN segment not a win.
Yeah I remembered it differently. My bad...
If two fighters go 24 rounds and neither fighter dominates or can even win a UD, any intelligent fan would know that these two fighters are very close in ability.
When diva fans call Golovkin a bum, a hype job etc, they like to ignore what it says about Alvarez.
If Golovkin's such a bum why couldn't a 27 yr old Alvarez dominate a 35 yr old Golovkin or even win a UD?
It's a simple question that diva fans won't answer.
he was better than he was hyped to be. wish floyd at 154, cotto, martinez, quillin, jacobs, canelo for 3 years had your confidence. but they did not and all ducked G.
floyd talked shi7 about G, being overrated and 1 dimensional, G said I will fight you at 154, floyd *****ed out and handpicked haymon patsy berto.
great white fighters are always discredited and downplayed by the kosher media which prefers black fighters to be celebrated.
would fight floyd at 154 but never fought there...would fight chavez and froch and 168 but wouldnt fight ward there....didnt fight lara when lara asked to come up and get a shot when lara was #1 at 154...was told he brought no fans or money and to "get in line at 160 if he wants a fight" by golovkins team but golovkin fought gabe rosado at 160 when rosado had exactly 0 wins at 160
would fight floyd at 154 but refused to try to negotiate a CW with cotto, martinez or canelo
Regardless of how you scored the fights, one thing we can all agree on (even Golovkin fans), Golovkin wasn't as good as he was hyped to be. Making him a hype job.

What Golovkin says has nothing to do with how Max scores fights.

when Golovkin said " anyone from 154-168 ".....
..... he meant, AT 160...
The shîtty scoring system and tge even number of rounds we have are the main reasons why we have such controversies in boxing. Combine that with politics and biases and you will alwats hear opposing views on who won any competitive fight.
Did he have more credibility when he said Golovkin won the rematch in an interview.
everyone has more credibility than the guy who said this...

Max has PLENTY of credibility son
he has MUCH more credibility than you excuse-making muppets

Max has no credibility. When he announced for HBO he first claimed that Golovkin put in an astonishing performance in the rematch but barely lost. Then on ESPN he said Golovkin won. Now this nonsense. He isn't consistant and he's supposed to be an expert on boxing.

The WBC had been setting up the Maravilla / Cotto / Canelo ish up since 2013, man. Smart PR would have been for GGG to not take the step aside, but then he simply would have had less money and still not got the fight. Bear in mind in the event that Cotto still dropped the belt anyway prior to the fight and Canelo dropped it afterwards which kinda tells you how important it was to 'em. Golovkin was never gonna be part of that picture because that fight was really about the money - the belt was just an added extra.
dude... what a load of fkn rubbish
everyone who negotiated in good faith with Cotto... landed that fight
FACT: when Mr " anyone from 154-168 " totally refused to negotiate on weight with the little old faded 153lb SUPERSTAR... HE WALKED AWAY FROM THAT FIGHT...
AND HE KNEW IT !!
you are still making childish excuses for the guy who said... NO
arguing... oh, but... catchweights blah blah... HARD FKN LUCK
everyone who said yes, landed that fight
it is as simple as 1,2,3... and here is the math...
1) Golovkin offered to defend against Rosado at 158
+
2) a few months after totally refusing to negotiate on weight with Cotto and Canelo... Golovkin stated that he was willing and able to fight at 154, but nobody will step up
=
3) FACT: Golovkin could have taken that fight... but he CHOSE not to
you guys will NEVER stop making excuses for a guy who totally refused to lift a finger to make meaningful fights... which is ridiculous
we will always be laughing at you sorry excuse-makers... because Golovkin did the same thing again... and again... and again... with EVERYONE !!
oh, really... ?
but... he is no longer a company yes-man... is he... ?
so, if there is any truth in your (thoughtless) post... then Max is no longer constrained by his employers... right ?

lol even Kellerman has finally seen the light and is admitting that Canelo beat GGG and raising real questions about GGG's career and resume. He beat low level competition and the moment he finally stepped up the small sample we have of him against real opponents and the hasn't looked good in those fights knockouts ended and all the fights he either lost or were controversial where many feel he should of lost.
Saying Dervy beat GGG isn't controversial anyone knows he lost that fight too. But clear 180 on GGG's career is irony coming from Kellerman who is a huge reason for the over hype GGG got and was at the time inflating GGG's resume while he was beating up on tomato cans. Kellerman will never admit to being wrong or part of the problem for anointing this man before he even beat 1 quality opponent and is trying to side step his role he played at HBO to boost a a guy with horrible level of opposition. Now that he is no longer working for HBO and GGG is on DAZN Max is on ESPN so he is finally speaking the truth. The more GGG loses or struggles against decent opponents only highlights what his critics said for years as he was praised for fighting terrible level opponents. GGG has only fought 5 opponents who have ever been a world champ. In comparison Floyd beat 26 opponents who were have been a world champ at some point in their career. Canelo isn't even 30 yet and has already BEATEN 15 world champs that's 3X GGG. GGG's entire career won't age well and is nothing but excuses for why he didn't make better fights or look good when he finally did get a few.
Let's not forget he took step aside money to let Cotto vs Canelo.

Shrug. I can’t really argue this but i would say most fighters get to the most elite class and the kos drop. GGG is available to be hit and less dominant than he once was, it’s a shame his prime wasn’t tested so he could have p4p status. Now he’s a good fighter, but clearly on his decline
No more following the hbo script, now Kellerman speaks the truth...ggg is a tough, durable fighter that puts on good, exiting fights (most of the time). The highly skilled "monster" hbo tried to make him out to be he is not.
exactly !
Exactly this! Kellerman has always been a company yes man. His bias ebbs and flows at the direction of his employers.

Thats all great but its not just outlanding your opponent its landing hard meaningful punches and combos and to do that you have to be really quick or know how to change angles. Now if ggg were able to combine that with his great jab it would have been a different story but he just doesn't have that...skill. I dont want to get into his fights with canelo but I believe canelo's combinations and head and waist movement scored well for him. I am also not sure about hbos numbers but regardless a lot of times you don't win fights just landing more...many times hard shots and combos outscore jabs.
For sure...I think most would agree that GGG lands some hard shots himself in his fights...yeah wasn't really trying to get into a debate about that fight/those fights though...some of the rounds where GGG outlanded Canelo (by my count not compubox etc), Canelo made it close because to me he landed the best shot or shots of the round...but yeah I saw GGG do some good work in those two fights as well, especially late on in them.
