That's a good point.
The NFL won't let any of their blue chip prospects box and play football.
Too much risk for injury and hurting their branding techniques
my main point is that if alot of these NFL guys started training in boxing from say the age of 7-8 or even older...the US would be littered with top HWs.....boxing simply doesnt pay as much as it did when tyson, bowe, evander were making big bucks
look how hard it is for wilder to break through?!! and how long it took?!?!? some of these kids in the NBA and NFL are getting 50+ mil guarantees at 21-22 years of age with the potential to make more once their rookie contract is up
A well placed "Mickey Ward" type liver shot puts him down for the count, no matter how big his neck is.
Mickey was a good fighter, nothing great, but I can't think of anyone who ended more fights with a left hand to the body!
mitchell was not a world class football player...he didnt play past college....which means he couldnt cut it at the top level...same with a guy like gerald washington...they played high level collegiate football....theres is a big difference though from that and the NFL...in college there might be 2-3 guys on average good enough to play in the NFL in a game between two teams....some of the top ranked teams playing each other will have more...but on average maybe 2-3 guys
the NFL has a ton of guys, that if they trained from an early age to box, would be very good and likely world champs
the guy in that picture there, broderick bunkley, was a huge bust...high draft pick but was never good in the NFL
That's a good point.

Do you not remember the tragedy of Seth Mitchell?
Arreola ran through him after a camp of strictly chimichangas & Mitchell's neck was just as thick

Oh yeah, HBO did good marketing of him.
If Wilder had Mitchell's personality on camera, he'd be the true top dog.
Not a big Wilder fan but seems to me like hes doing ok lol
I guess he could be much more charismatic
Mitchell just had it in him
Yea, big neck and huge muscles = strong chin, right???

Ouch.....
KO 1 right there
Your right there
People are fast to jump on the bandwagon
I still remember him stumbling like a drunken fool in the ring
Lots of people were in denial

Why? Is a big neck supposed to make you knock out proof? It doesn't. It might help a little but a guy can have a huge neck and still have a glass jaw. Look at the boxers who have never been knocked down. They usually have strong normal sized necks.
They really were! He had all the makings of a crossover star except having possibly the worst chin in heavyweight history. Khan and Kirkland have adamantium chins compared to Mitchell

Haha Seth Mitchell
People were hyping him like he was going to be the greatest ever
Just goes to show

Oh yea cause it was so hard to ko Bob Sapp
Uh when he was taking it serious it actually was hard to KO him. When Crocop broke his face with that kick it also broke his will.
