Why cant GGG fight at 168 or 175 like Canelo?GGG is not calling out Spence. He is fighting for the IBF middleweight world title. He fights as a middleweight because he is a middleweight. Canelo shows off by picking weaker champions at higher weights he thinks he can beat. Canelo was a 12 to 1 betting favorite to beat Fielding. GGG could have beat Fielding but why? Canelo is a 4.5 to one favorite to beat Kovalev because Kovalev is old and looking vulnerable. GGG could have fought Kovalev and he would be heavily favored to win but Why? Let me know when Canelo fights the best guys at 168 like Smith or Benavidez. Let me know when Canelo fights a young undefeated 175 pound champion. I don't think he will take any of those fights. Why hasn't triple cherry pick moved up? Presumably because like Spence and most other boxers, fighting at a weight class higher than your own leaves you at a disadvantage and therefore you are more likely to lose. Very basic, easy question to answer but the standard is applied differently depending on who people like/dislike. Such is the nature of 'boxing fans'
