I don't know how he can be right there in Baltimore and be recognized at the Ravens game and not look at someone like QB Lamar Jackson who is younger than him and leading a team of men...the contrast would be too striking to ignore for anyone who is really looking to change themselves. Super professional and has made a big jump from one year to the next.
it's being critical because ****...I like boxing - so give me a fast, two hand puncher who go for the kill all day, I want him to be successful as he can. little guys don't last that long so 24 is not young anymore if the body isn't matching
He gets way too fat in between fights and he puts on weight rapidly too
Only 24 so he is able to get away with it for NOW but needs to be more discipline
Let him enjoy life. If he can make weight legally then this is none of your business.
You really have to do things in order though. Put in the work and dedication now. With enough wins and money he can be retired by 35 and never have to work again, or he can enjoy his life now and probably never reach his potential.
His maturity isn't there.
It doesn't take long for boxers to get out of fighting shape and put on 20 pounds (which is a healthy limit). Tank is showing what happens when those rest weeks turn into months. Boxers don't need much time to shed the weight during training camp because water weight comes off in those sessions. It's a gift and a curse because they can drop 40 and even 50 pounds in 2-3 months.
You can get away with it in the short term, but it erodes your physical ability in the long term. Castillo, Corrales, Casamayor, Hatton, Morales, Bowe, and others that could have continued to have successful careers were shot much earlier than their counterparts (Mayweather/Pacquiao, JMM/Barrera, Holyfield/Lewis). Mayweather had to learn to stay in the gym after the Spadafora sparring session. Hopefully, Tank and others doing this, do themselves a favor and lengthen their careers.
So a short career for Tank Davis then? He can get away with it now but like Ricky Fatton he will be done by 30. And the way his team are talking he STILL wont of taken the big fights by then.
Looking bloated, fatigued, and slow. Blessed with talent but Discipline will be his downfall. Hes a 135lb riddick bowe.
He's the Ricky Fatton of the US :beerchug:
when tey showed him during the fight someone asked what weight did Tank fight at. I told them 135 and they were like dude looks like he weighs 180 right now. LMFAO.
Floyd needs to doa better job promoting him but Tank need to take better care of himself between fights.
I said the same thing. Tank really misjudged that extra 5 pounds.
