Seems like Joseph Parker was bitten by a poisonous spider while training for Chisora. Joe should chose his sparring partners more carefully in future!
Seriously though, this isn't as crazy as it might seem. There are a lot of venomous creepy crawlies down under.
According to this site there 3 species of venomous spider in NZ, though 2 of them originated in OZ.

I hope you get bitten by one.
No, wait .... I hope you get bitten by all 3 of them.
neither the katipo nor the white-tail are poisonous
the redback is Australian, and has not killed anyone since the day they invented the anti-venom in the 1970's
the only thing in our country that is poisonous are freedom campers from the UK who shlt all over our woods and forests

Boxers seem to always have the stupidest **** happen before a fight. Sucks that would have been an entertaining one
Worst luck among athletes I've ever seen was a hockey player named Sami Salo. Guy was injured every season with the most messed up injuries.
One summer he got bit by a poisonous snake while golfing. He tore his Achilles tendon another summer playing indoor floor hockey. Most memorable was him rupturing a testicle during a game though.
then they wouldnt have agreed to the fight in the first place
it was chisora who got sulky about it after anyway if only to hype it up
The worldboxing series was not apart of the card at first
I think its all a lie and away to get the card removed as they were pissed about it from the jump

He was training in Vegas. The "spider bite" is really gonorrhea from a hooker.
It could have even been a tick bite. Those things can ruin some future plans LOL. I am thinking Tick because he never noticed it when he got bitten. Ticks you cannot feel. Most spider bites you can feel unless distracted.
The poisenous spiders are in OZ not NZ, and JP doesnt even train in NZ anyways, he trains in Vegas..
either way im ****ing pissed this is off, was pumped for that card, was one of the best cards of the year and now its just standard.
There are poisonous spider in NZ, though not as many as in OZ. And according to the report, Parker could have been bitten before he left NZ.
Parker's manager David Higgins earlier told the Herald that trainer Kevin Barry had identified a "sore" in the fighter's thigh as soon as he got into camp, and thought it looked like a spider bite.
There are poisonous spiders in Nevada (Brown Recluse, Brown Widow)
****, imagine leaving NZ/AZ and getting bit by a poisonous spider in America?
