The Spence fight came only 8 months after the GGG fight. Brook's last 2 fights were at 154, and he weighed in at only 150 for his last fight because he's been planning to go back down to 147, because there are more lucrative and winnable fights at 147.

Going on his fight history Brook is now at the stage where he wants a retirement pay day. If he can't get Khan in the UK then Crawford in the US is a good option for him. But is the money there?

Then it’s an option that they should explore, just by listening to many people around here, the amount of money Matchroom pays Brook!!! That fight can only happen in the UK, unless Brook is willing to take a pay cut to go to America for that fight, and to be honest if Brook isn’t willing to take a pay cut to make the Khan fight a reality then I don’t see him doing so again Crawford. That fight would do well in the UK, but the fact that Hearn doesn’t talk about it as an option makes me feel like he doesn’t think it would come off. I remember Hearn talking about it a bit after the Khan fight. But Arum was the one that shot it down quickly saying Brook is a nobody now. Brook knows how much Khan got for the Crawford fight and he will want around the same. This is why it only makes sense in the UK. Maybe majority of his pay could come off how well the PPV and gate does? So sort or of an upside type of deal and TR guatantees Crawford's purse? I don't know but you can't put that fight on PPV in the states so this is the only option.

The fight would have to be in the UK on Sky Box Office for it to happen. And honestly, why not if you are Crawford? You rather face someone like Brook than Collazo or someone of that caliber. I mean if the Spence fight happens next then this fight is irrelevant. But if Spence beats Porter and gets Pacquiao? Then Crawford vs Brook is decent. Would Rank allow him to come to the UK? They should but would they? It would be an easy fight for him, and he can get Brook the PPV that he wants.

Who knows what’s going to happen! Matchroom haven’t done much with Brook lately, and that’s more to do with him waiting for the right fights. If Crawford is willing to take less as the champion, and willing to go to the UK because he is desperate for opponents then maybe he should consider moving up. Crawford has fought in the UK before but not as the champ, and not as the name he is now. As your name gets bigger you tend not to even consider travelling, especially American boxers. Brook does need this more than Crawford. He's had two fights at 154, but he can't beat the top guys, so he should just take another shot at 147. A win against Crawford would reinvigorate his career, and if he loses, he could still fight Khan at 147.

What makes you think Brook will ask for $5 million? Don't forget, Brook was okay with getting paid $200K when he fought Porter in California. Brook has a contract that says that. This isn’t the contract he signed in 2012 when he was a mandatory and unknown. And that contract is in pounds sterling not dollars neither.
