I did say I would start a thread for WE (us hardcore fans) can keep our own lil record of who's lineal and we can also discuss and agree on who is or who isn't lineal.....
Ring magazine was known for putting up the "ring" belt to signify lineal status.....
but ever since golden boy bought them its been very biased imo and in many other opinions....
now Transnational boxing rankings were the go to.... until they gave an imaginary win in the fury-wilder fight.
(idc who you thought won... it was not a robbery. Chavez sr vs whittaker was a clear robbery and no one can even argue that... and this fight wasn't even comparable to that)
so lets start from heavyweight down. You dont have to list a full top 10..... imo just a top 3 should do
Heavyweight:
Lineal: Tyson Fury
#1- Deontay Wilder
#2- Andy Ruiz Jr.
lets take it from here fellas!
We need to try and clean up/clarify this mess!
There is no lineage for weight divisions under HW. Those divisions exist because of sanctioning bodies.
Lineal is exist to answer who would be champion without sanctioning bodies. Well, if you're asking under HW the answer is no one.
The original eight divisions were around long before the sanctioning bodies were.
:lol1:
not its not....
wow what an exageration
I would consider retired if a fighter hasnt fought in 2 whole years while not having injuries or promoter issues that bar him from fighting etc.....
but thats just me.
Completely agree...
That's because Fury declared that he's retired... The one he retracted hours after... The point is, he announced retirement... Be it a minute or a decade long, it's still a retirement...

I'm not talking about the pointless Ring belt. I'm talking about LINEAL
He beat Cotto to become Lineal the first time, then beat GGG to become lineal the 2nd time (lineal was up for grabs vs GGG because they were the top 2 guys in the division).
when did ggg become lineal?
canelo never lost at middleweight after the cotto fight
GrandPac retired right after...
I'm sure you need to file a resignation in your work... In boxing, you don't need to...
Oh well, you can try tweeting that, retract after a few hours and not report for 2 years...
How can you retire then fight again that same year?
C’mon man use some common sense...
I don't agree with TRBR. Mikey is not lineal at 140. Who did he beat? Lipinets was not #1 or #2 at that weight to me. Not at all. Lipinets beat no one before losing to Mikey
Agreed. There’s no way Lipinets was top 2.
If Welterweight was last held by Pacquiao. That makes Crawford the lineal 147 Champ. As Horn beat Pac then Crawford beat Horn.
It was last held by Mayweather IMO.

no it isn't lol. If I tweet "I'm retired" I'm still expected to go to work tomorrow

Heavyweight: Vacant (last held by Fury)
Cruiserweight: Usyk (soon to be vacated; Briedis-Dorticos winner might take over)
Light Heavyweight: Gvozdyk
Super Middleweight: Vacant (last held by Ward)
Middleweight: Canelo
Junior Middleweight: Vacant (last held by Mayweather; Hurd-Williams 2 winner might take over)
Welterweight: Vacant (last held by Pacquiao)
Junior Welterweight: Mikey (soon to be vacated)
Lightweight: Vacant (last held by Crawford)
Junior Lightweight: Vacant (last held by Pacquiao)
Featherweight: Vacant (last held by Pacquiao)
Junior Featherweight: Rigo
Bantamweight: Vacant (last held by Piñango)
Junior Bantamweight: Estrada
Flyweight: Vacant (last held by Chocolatito)
Junior Flyweight: Vacant (last held by Segura)
Minimumweight: Vacant (last held by Finito)
TBRB got it right... Unless they won't consider Mikey's throne as vacant on the rankings of the week after September 10...

I just don't see Charlo as that guy. And I had Harrison with the win on the cards. Charlo looked clueless the whole fight, getting his head snapped by counters and was clueless on how to proceed.
154 (in my opinion)
1) Williams
2) Hurd
3) Harrison
4) Charlo
5) Munguia (Although I thought Hogan beat him, and Adames likely beats him too)
I have Williams #1 and those next 3 are pretty much interchangeable IMO. If both rematches happen it will likely settle any doubts.

Agree with them all except for Jermell Charlo. He lost to Harrison. He is not #2 until he avenges his loss to him. I'd say the winners of Williams-Hurd 2 and Harrison-Charlo 2 can face eachother for the title
Yeah I’m down with that. 154 is a bit of a mess atm with all the upsets.
no it isn't lol. If I tweet "I'm retired" I'm still expected to go to work tomorrow
Now do it for two years and waltz in without warning.
It’s also different. You have a job. Tyson Fury did not.
Dude was suspended for peds and also retired. Couldnt come back if he wanted. No one thought he was coming back he was in the midst of a very real personal crisis. It wasn’t like Floyd who was still training and already only fought sparingly and had his biggest money fights on the table.
Fury was retired retired.
AJ should have been considered the lineal after that as the man unified and beat all the other champs outside of the only one who he wasnt able to step into the ring with.
Adonis was never considered the man at 75 either but he kept himself as the champ while letting Kovalev do all the work and clean up and unify the division. That’s how The Nail became lineal. Shoulda been Ward after he beat Kova but lineage is lineage.
Lineal is nice when it isnt held hostage like Adonis did. Still, at least it’s in the hands of a worthy fighter right now so it ended up okay.

imo they should have never taken him out.... we all know that he was gonna come back and box again.....

Nope, the lineal title became vacant when the god fought Liam smith at 154 then CHavez at Super middle.
You're thinking about the Ring belt which is a pretty pointless title these days.
Good to see "The God" stepping up for the big fights like Liam Smith and Chavez jr.
