I would like to use your post to dovetail and make my point I hope you do not mind. I would Amend the bolded statement by adding the words "can be" after fighter and taking out "Is." Why the passive construction? Because street fights are very random and one interesting thing about trained fighters is we generally seek to control the situation. Martial Arts is ultimately about control and making the situation easy to deal with, it is not about contests. This is the big difference between combat for sport, and combat where anything can happen at any time. People that study different fighting arts all can be lethal. Akido which is not a combat system can break your neck if thrown a certain way...Does not mean I want to rely upon it in a fight. The random nature of a street fight can suprise anyone. Very few are guaranteed a victory, only a probable outcome. So, if i am a boxer and can set up a punch that is great for me, If I am MMA and I can set up a take down ditto... But both of these can be undone by the use of a blade, or a few friends in the background.

Beetwen that and the old man incident, I think it's safe to say that his striking (dumb fcking term BTW just call it punching) is below average in the real world and boxing.
