Am I the only one surprised kovalev is the favorite?? Clearly kovalevs best days are behind him...He was stopped by Alvarez, who is nowhere near the puncher yarde is...Yarde attacks the body well, something kovalev doesn't like...Yarde is a good inside fighter, kovalev is not...Although kovalev dominated alverez in the rematch, his legs didn't look fresh...I could see Yarde getting robbed in Russia, n originally I picked kovalev on points, but I've changed my pick to Yarde by late TKO.
Either way, should be a great fight Saturday. Thoughts?
He's got that upper body movement and the legs to control distance. His shoulder roll means he's comfortable edging forward and seeing everything coming his way.
Kovalev would need to be on his toes dancing around and forcing Yarde to try cut the ring off for 12 rounds to avoid inside fighting. I can't see him doing that at this stage in his career.
I see seek and destroy tactics from Yarde. He can be outboxed and outmanoeuvred but Kovalev can't do that for 12 rounds without getting opened up IMO.
It's gonna take some hard punches by Kovalev to get Yardes respect and make him hesitant.
Thanks for this, appreciated

The thing is Yarde hasn't fought anyone who would even be favoured to hold a British title, let alone anyone in the world top 30 or even 40.He also had only a handful of amateur fights, and doesn't really spar anyone of note. Yarde is looking good at a level probably any of Kovalevs well known victims would.
I remember you called the Warrington Selby fight, so I know that you know your stuff.
Why are you so sure about Yarde? I've seen a few people picking Yarde to win, but I can't see how he's gonna get inside

Yarde by KO. Remember I told you. Saw this coming a mile off

Depends on Yarde's chin, hes never been hit by someone even remotely close to the level of Kovalevs power. Yarde gets hit too much, for my liking, by average fighters. He aint going to be going to the body if Kovalev's hitting him hard in the face everytime.
Good point, Yarde does get hit a lot. This is close to a 50/50 fight.
