Can't blame Ward for lighting up Yarde. After all Yarde's trainer suggested Yarde was better than Ward. Yarde a guy whose best win is Travis Reeve.
Some serious lack of respect there.
Damn, Ward lit Yarde up. I like how Ward always shows Kovalev respect in the media.
I always like Ward's opinions.
And if Froch taught Ward anything its how not to be a sour d1ck :lol1:
I didn’t really care about this fight but now I wanna see how badly this dude is gonna get beat lol. Bad enough he was doing a poor floyd imitation on the mitts. This makes it worse
I think Yarde is a hell of talent, but Tunde is an absolute joker.
Imagine coming from the Mayweather gym like Tunde has thinking that sparring is a bad thing :lol1:
The guy is delusional. Between a short am career, terrible opposition and no sparring, the best fighter Yarde has ever been thing with will be leagues and leagues below Kovalev. He’s gonna have to learn extremely quickly what the top level of this sport is all about.
Be a shame if Tunde f**ks Yarde up. Like i say I think he is a hell of a talent. Natural power, nice balance, timing, loose and flexible (even despite his build) and with a good control of distance.
I thought I read somewhere that Yarde doesn't lift weights. That he just does calisthenics.
Is that true?

Surely that can't be right.
But in my opinion, Yarde can spar 1000 thousand rounds and still wouldn't be fit to face Kovalev. We're talking about a guy who has never even fought at British level and who's been getting hit by these bulgarian journeymen.
I like Yarde, and I like his energy (not tunde) but I just can't see how he could ever win this fight, UNLESS Kovalev is completely done.
They are just stupid. They should get sparring partners who fight as much like Kov as possible to prepare for him. Everybody knows that. That's the way everybody does it because it helps to win fights. They don't need to overdo the sparring but 30 or 40 rounds of good sparring in the last few weeks would help him win.
Kovalev will not only be the hardest hitter Yarde has faced but he'll also have the best jab and mid range game Yarde has seen. But yea don't try to replicate that in sparring smh. Kova stoppage by the 6th round
I have a feeling this is going to backfire on him in a very bad way. On the contrary, All james toney did to prepare for a fight was SPAR. No roadwork or bag work just non stop sparring.
...and have you heard him try to talk lately?
If he was fighting regularly, once a month like the old timers used to, then I could see not needing to spar.
But just doing pads and hitting bags and strength training? I don't see how you can hone your timing and distancing for a real time bout.

What a savage.
As much as Tunde seems like a joke he has some points with sparring in regards to injuries or taking unnecessary shots. But for him to devise his whole training system copying the Mayweathers, with his own modifications being removing roadwork and sparring from the plan, seems questionable. The hard sparring was detabatably what had Floyd Jr. not only so well conditioned, but conditioned under pressure. What I'm wondering I guess is what Tunde supplements his training with if they choose to cut those things out? Three times as much patty cake games on the pads? Well I guess we will see next Saturday, the first real test of Yarde and and Tunde's "System 9"
“Anthony is the golden child who will validate me. All he has to do is win a world title. I built him from scratch. Then, they’ll have to give me credit."

Are he and his trainer genius innovators who will revolutionize the game? Or just delusional?
I believe it's just a rumor. This is the last week of preparation so he's probably tapering off.
LHW is a very dangerous division.
I don’t think these 200lb+ guys should be taking too much head punishment during camp.
The LHWs speed and power just makes it deadly.
Yarde used to love sparring in the Peac0ck Gym and the Maywe@ther Gym so I don't know how true it is that he's not sparring for this fight. That kid could spar all day.
Tunde is not a fan of sparring just in general, and especially not hard sparring, his philosophy seems to be, 'Save it for fight night'. I don't get it man. Seems like a recipe for disaster.
Here is Ward's opinion, if you haven't seen it already. Short video (
