is Pacquiao REALLY better than Marquez..... ???
he certainly never proved it, when they were both in the same ring
Marquez lost to Floyd... but then, so did Pacquiao
Marquez lost to Bradley... but then, so did Pacquiao
Pac aged a little better, and he handled the higher weight better
I do not have Pacquiao much higher than Marquez on the ATG list
I definitely think that Marquez would have won most of Pacquiao's marquee fights, if not all... Hatton at 140, Hoya at 145, Cotto at 145... probably old shot Mosley, definitely Rios, Algieri, Vargas, Matthyse, Broner... had he taken those fights at the same age and under the same conditions that Pacquiao took them
Pac was more suited to the higher divisions, and he edges Marquez in caliber of wins and longevity... but truth be known, the gap between Pacquiao and Marquez is not as significant as people think
which is why the pac-contortionists have been KILLING themselves with their recent efforts to close the distance between Pacquiao and Mayweather
and the thing is, the higher you get on that list, the harder it is to move the needle... because the dudes in front of you are bad bad boys
this really is ridiculous
ya'll must have forgot
Marquez is a TRULY great fighter
March 2008
"I have yet to see a fight in which I thought Juan Manuel Marquez was beaten... I thought he beat Pacquiao both times... I believe he is the best featherweight, in one of the best featherweight era's... EVER"
~ Max Kellerman
February 2009
"that was just as sensational as any performance by Manny Pacquiao... Pacquiao is great, Marquez is just as great"
~ Jim Lampley
November 2010
"Juan Marquez is one of the greatest fighters in the modern era"
~ Jim Lampley
at that point, Bradley had not even beaten Alexander at 140
AFTER that point... Marquez picked up a title at 140, and then KTFO Pacquiao... which is better than any win on Bradleys record
beating Marquez was a great win for Bradley... even though Marquez was never a welterweight
Bradley was an excellent fighter, who always found a way to win
Marquez was GREAT
not even close
If Marquez is in the HOF, Bradley should be as well. Bradley's only losses on his record are against one of the best ever. Everyone Bradley has faced, he's defeated. Marquez lost to people who were on a level that Bradley would never have lost to. Marquez took 4 chances and 2 cycles of steroid use to finally get a victory over Pacquiao. Against Pacquiao he's 1-2-1 (when technically it should be 1-3 because of that dumb scoring error in fight 1)
Even though Marquez was older and later in his career, many people still gave him the upper hand vs Bradley when they fought. When Bradley won, those same people decided to say Marquez was passed it. If anything that was an even more impressive victory for Bradley seeing as how he defeated a Marquez coming off his greatest victory plus more cycling of steroid use.
Bradley was an overachiever. I respect that fact. Blame the judges for giving him the nod Vs. Pacquiao.
Well then just call him an overachiever. Giving him credit for a win vs Pac disrespects everything we know about boxing, minus the crooked judging. And fuk crooked judging anyways
Come on, man. Don't give Bradley credit for a win vs Pac. Just don't. Hard to take you seriously after that shiiiit.

Juanita’s resume is nothing special Without Pacquiao’s name on it and officially he’s 1-2-1 against his biggest obsession.
He had good wins over the likes of Medina, Gainer, Salido, Barrera, Casamayor, J.Diaz, Katsidis & Alvarado. Good but nothing special.
Bradley’s resume is solid. Real solid you can’t look down on it. Slightly better than Juanita’s.
Wins over M. Vasquez, Witter, Holt, L. Peterson, Alexander, Casamayor, Pacquiao, Provodnikov, Juanita, Vargas & Rios. Too bad that official “W” over Campbell was overturned.

the TS had touched on two items that would have been better dealt separately...
Marquez deserved the HOF award...win or lose he was always exciting to watch...a true blood Mexican fighter..his tenacity earned him 4 fights with pac...that in itself speaks volume about him being a good dance partner with pac..as their fights were well attended and discussed.
I also like Bradley...but I will not dwell on his resume compared to Juan..
Marquez is a clear level above Bradley in terms of resume
he is the true definition of a P4P fighter
the dude was a phenomenal featherweight
Marquez resume just since moving up probably > Bradley
Don't even try to hide the fact that you're a *******.
So you’re saying a closeted h*mo? Well, come out of the closet then. It’s 2019 for f**k’s sake. Should be safe for your kind to come out.
Marquez is far greater than Bradley. Surely this isn’t a serious thread and the responses aren’t serious? What’s next? De La Hoya greater than Chavez? Pryor greater than Arguello? Tarver greater than Jones?
Prime isn't just age. Prime is when physical & mental meet.
You're at your best physically when you're young. But not at your best mentally. Your physical is on a decline while you're mental is on the rise. When those two meet is when you're prime. Marquez had just come off beating.
But if you don't understand that lets use the word peak. Marquez was peak after beating Pacquiao.
Juan was not peak or prime at anytime at ww man...He was just so talented that he still was able to compete
When you look at Bradley's and Marquez resumes they are close. If they fought 100 times it would split 65-35 for Bradley imo. They were both in their prime but Bradley was coming off a much tougher fight against Providnikov. His trainer talks about how he almost pulled him from the fight because camp was going so bad. Bradley was ripe for the picking.
how the hell was JMM prime when he fought Bradley?
