Why did Joshua not get extra recovery time Wilder got which we were all told is within the rules when fighting in NY? The rule, which seems like a joke rule to me, was brought in to action for Deontay Wilder but not for Joshua.
That rule needs taking out of the New York play book as it is nothing more than a tool to protect American fighters from losing. If any fighter needed looking at by a ring side doctor it was Anthony Joshua, he seemed concussed. Wilder was just getting battered like in most normal fights.
We cant have these Americans having one rule for their own and one for everybody else. And American want to cry about not wanting to fight in the UK? Im not surprised, there is much less chance they will get away with PEDDING in the UK and there is much less chance of a robbery.
😂 Duck your response? I have like 26 quoted post to get through. Didn’t even see this one or any others from other poster. I don’t need to duck your response because I think we all concluded that Wilder was given time to recover, nothing to do with safety of said fighter..
when did that happen?
maybe in your mind
so lets try this again:
Sorry that’s not a good excuse, again let’s try this again. You went and check on a fighter that walked back to his corner on his own accord, a bit wobbly.
But you would not check on the ones that were KD and one who was badly hurt? Ok mate...
You say wilder:
a bit wobbly.
even after receiving about 20 punches from ortiz in that round (yes the videos are time stamped)
you say about AJ: (who had more than 1 min in between kds and ruiz was not pummeling him like ortiz was doing to wilder)
one who was badly hurt?
and then you finish it with:
Ok mate
and we are expected not to think you are biased? :lol1:
and again... badly hurt is your opinion. He got up after the 2nd kd took a HUGE breath and put his hands up... if he was "hurt" like you said he wouldn't be able to do all that as quickly as he did
now dont duck it this time
I just want a fair fight with a fair conclusion.
There’s so many ways to look at this of course. Still I have to ask, What’s fair about AJ getting to pick the location of both fights against Ruiz? despite getting rubbished? Do losers get choice of venue in the rematch in ur sports as a general rule? What if a west ender picked the time and place against an eastender? Then got sparked. Do u support the loser demanding to pick the venue again for the rematch? Is that class? Does that look cool?
Why didn't they look at Wilder during the minute instead of waiting for it to be over before looking at him?
Because they're not supposed to interfere with the corner's ability to help their fighter recover. In NY, the doctor checks the fighter before they go out for the next round if there is serious doubt about their ability to continue. It happens in NY all the time. Plenty of examples have been posted in this thread. It's not unique to Wilder.
The round after Joshua got knocked down, the doctor wasn't considering stopping the fight, so there was no reason to check on Joshua to see if he could continue.
The point isn't to give more time to AJ. The point is Wilder was protected. Why didn't they look at Wilder during the minute instead of waiting for it to be over before looking at him? Wilder was coming out for the 8th but the doctors stopped him from doing so to give him extra time.
As for a mong like you calling us irrational, that's extreme irony. The most irrational morons on this site are American. You couldn't point out anything irrational from us because it exists only in your f3cked up mind. You're so delusional, it's a serious mental illness.
Hey Mr. 154 pounds pipe down and do some more pushups. In a few months you will actually be a full fledged middleweight! Jerkoff!
If the ringside physician checked on Joshua between rounds and was satisfied with his or her findings why would the fight be delayed? Just for the hell of it? How long have you been following boxing? What exactly is the point here? I attended the Kownacki/Arreola fight and there was one round where Arreola was given a second look based on an accumulation of punishment. There was no favoritism or bias involved. Kownacki rightfully did not whine about it after the fight. Joshua not given a second look after the third round had nothing to do with the outcome of the fight. Do you want every fight delayed after someone is stunned. Shut the fu.k up already with the B.S. The boxing fans from the U.K are some of the most ignorant, irrational clowns on this planet. I cannot believe that this is even a serious thread. What arseholes!

Yet if it did happen and the fight was called off almost every Pom would be calling bs stoppage.
AJ got more time given to him than any other boxer that I have seen in a similar position.
Face it Poms AJ got ktfo and embarrassed which by large embaresses you Brits.

- -Ok, we get you needed extra time out away from the classroom.
The point is that Wilder got extra time after the minute in the corner. AJ didn't. Why didn't the doctor wait until the minute was up until checking on him after being dropped twice in one round the way Wilder was checked?
You should watch the first 6 rounds of Wilder/Ortiz. They did nothing but look at each other with a few light jabs landing from Ortiz. The only time Wilder was hit with something of worth, was the 7th. But you're acting like it was different because it was 7 rounds in instead of 3? What a joke you continue to be.

What point is anyone evading? Changing the direction of a thread? The round ended and both guys went to their respective corners. Were there not doctors checking them out? Where is the evidence? Where should anyone have gotten extra time and when would it have been warranted? The whole point of the post is pointless. False claims without evidence! Typical. Again where is evidence of negligence towards either fighter. Extra time? In the Kowmacki/Arreola fight Chris was looked at by a physician for a few extra seconds after one of the rounds. It was probably based on an accumulation of punishment. The A.J/Ruiz fight was only 3 rounds old and they weren't exactly clobbering each other for the whole 9 minutes. Do you guys actually follow the sport? What the fu.k?

The ref gave Joshua at least 20 seconds before waving the fight off vs. Ruiz, Joshua was chilling on the ropes till the ref realized Joshua was dazed and confused. Fury also got 20 seconds vs. Wilder, he got up at 10 fight should've been called off but the ref made Fury take a walk in both directions and checked his gloves.
Don't talk about fairness of boxing in American. British boxing has always been a joke and this year the most. Ya run your mouth like you can do something than an American will travel there a beat your fighter down, you'll make excuses. You think Wilder is ducking Whyte, like its some conspiracy by the WBC to prevent Wilder from fighting fat boy who gets knocked down every fight.
If Americans give extra time, Brits always wave the fight off way too quick. Two cases in point:
Joshua vs. Takkam
Froch vs. Groves 1
No one gets a fair shake on the scorecards in the UK either. I'm almost certain all British fight fans are incompetent. Eddie Hearn is a sell out. You going to have fun watching Joshua get knocked out in Saudi Arabia? You think Wilder will ever fight in Saudi Arabia?
Give me the fights where overseas fighters don't get a fair shake? You can't answer this because it's utter nonsense. The US has robberies and corruption to max settings.
Groves was exhausted and badly hurt. He would have been knocked out soon after this. I agree that should have been allowed to happen after all he did in the fight, but it is what it is.
Takam was dominated for every second in that fight. What was AJ being protected from? The ref stopped it as Takam had cuts above both eyes and it was leaking into his eyes so the ref stopped the fight after Takam was hurt. Nothing wrong with that. If I were to list every robbery in the US, i'd be here for a week.
Who are these Americans that travel to beat us down? Spence who fought a badly weight drained Brook who had just come back from surgery for a cracked eye socket? Spence lost the first half of the fight big time. He didn't win a single round on my card. It was only after Brook had nothing left did Spence come into it. Had Brook not gone up to Middle, he would have dealt with Spence with room to spare.
Don't tell me, Tank against a non world class fighter? Hahaha.
Americans are too scared to travel the vast majority of the time. But the odd times they do, they lose nearly every time. So not only are Americans beaten on their home turf, they're beaten away from home too. Check your facts.
Evading the points, trying to change the direction of the thread. God damn PBC crack junkies you can't get a proper debate out of these cult worshipping addicts. They are not boxing fans they are fans of fights not happening.

Are you assuming that A.J and Ruiz did not have doctors in their corners after round three? Please provide video evidence. The DAZN feed does not show the activity in their respective corners. Probably more made up B.S by the "smartest" boxing fans in the world! Again, stick to soccer!

There was a doctor in the corner in the wilder fight. He looked wilder over for a full minute in that corner and then the fight was stopped while he went and did the same thing in another corner. It was a BS move to give wilder some extra recovery time and it is a BS rule that is there to be exploited and manipulated under the disguise of a rule to protect fighters from serious injury.

I just rewatched the Joshua/Ruiz fight on DAZN. After round 3 had ended there were replays of the round and a close up of Joshua for a few seconds. There was no view of the activity in the corners. One would assume that there were doctors in both corners observing both fighters. If anyone has any video evidence of the ringside physicians activity or lack thereof at the end of the round feel free to post it. I imagine that this is another example in a long litany of british boxing fans being nationalisitic and naive in respect to the sport of boxing. A little advice, stick to soccer!

On a serious note I will have to rewatch the fight. I would hope that the ref always gave Joshua the proper "welfare check" after all four knockdowns. "Looking in to his eyes, directing him to move a certain way, etc." Also did a ringside physician check on A.J in between rounds?
I think the ref played his part perfectly. Nothing he could have done more. The robot quit or got KTFO, whichever one makes some people lol the best. Going back to the OP point, it was the shady way Wilder was brought time in the Ortiz fight by the ring doctor. That is what the OP was pointing out and asking why wasn’t a doctor doing the same in Ruiz and Joshua.
Because at the time, we all knew what was happening was shady as phuck, but the excuses was the “NY are now more careful” etc because they were sued. Fine, so if that was the case why didn’t they do that with every single fight in NY? Especially with a big HW fight (Ruiz/Joshua), just like the doctor coming in AFTER the bell has rang for the start of the round.
The simple answer was Wilder was the house fighter and they brought him time to recover. If not that same doctor would have gone in and check Wilder right in between the interval not AFTER the bell has rang for the next round.

That was already established when that robot got KTFO, the question still remains why was the doctor not on the apron checking him and Ruiz after the bell has rang?
