This "Golden era" of UK boxing could be a massive PED laced fraud
Dillian Whyte testing positive for drugs(for a second time) changes everything and has ushered in a MLB like purge that could tarnish UK boxing for decades.
Here is why.
-Over the last few years, boxing in the UK has exploded, at multiple weights, there can be no doubt, that this is the golden era of British boxing, or at least it was until late last year. Big fights, huge crowds, sweet Caroline, it's been a spectacle, and a shot in the arm boxing has badly needed, esp in the heavyweight division, American fans won't admit it, but the UK was smoking the US for awhile there.
But lets review, BJ, Tyson, Hughie, Dillan tested positive for drugs before fights that were allowed to crack on, and there is massive suspicion surrounding Anthony Joshua, everything from his waistline, his weight gain from the olympics his formative years as a heavyweight, to his lethargic performance against Ruiz, a fight that didn't involve this shady a$$ commission.
If the board of control, and this UKAD would take this type of risk to protect Whyte, what would they do to protect the golden child? Has AJ tested positive and had it swept under the rug??? Likely based on these events.
If Hearn, and the corrupt drug testing apparatus, are comfortable keeping an adverse PED result quiet, holding a hearing the day of the fight, and not notifying the other camp, the sanctioning body, nobody, if they are that insidious, and greedy, then WTF else have they been up to over the last few years?
The possibilities are now endless, these men are willing to put human life in danger to make money, and don't think for a second there is not kickbacks involved, this operation would not be able to run without them.
This golden era of UK PPV, all of it, might be a massive fraud, buoyed by an apathetic and corrupt drug testing apparatus, and done so in concert with a promoter who has pushed this fresh face good boy persona. Hearn has banked a ton of money based on the "rise of UK boxing", if he has done it, by turning the cheek on PEDs, even encouraging such activity through inaction, he will be seen in a very negative light historically, and will be looking at incredible legal and criminal liability, because sponsors, networks, everyone could want their money back if the Matchroom ship is capsized by law suits or the police.
-Two fighters died last week, and before boxing fans could even mourn the departed, we hear that Matchroom, Sky Sports, and the local commission engaged in a conspiracy that resulted in a smaller fighter entering the ring, against a man who weighed 259 pounds, and had two forms of juice in his system. This fighters dies, it's depraved indifference homicide. This is where a lawsuit, and potential criminal scrutiny comes into play. People think Whyte is being quiet because he plans to sue Hauser, and boxing scene, thats not why, Whyte, Hearn, Matchroom, and anyone else that was complicit is looking at a criminal investigation, PEDS are illegal, even in the UK, importing them selling them, using them. Whyte is far more concerned with the police, then the eminent ban that will be bestowed upon him any day now. Law enforcement in the UK watched this entire event unfold, they will look weak, and awful, if they don't rip the cover off this thing, and take down a couple national heroes in the process. There was worldwide outrage towards the United Kingdom over this issue, don't think for a second the authorities were not offended, and who knows that the royal family thought, they are big boxing fans.
-The spotlight is now on AJ, and everyone else. AJ was conspicuously quiet when this story broke, Whyte is one of his biggest rivals, and AJ crushed big baby miller for the same offense, yet on this, he is dead quiet, nothing, did he take a stand for clean boxing in wake of this incident? Or did he tow the line?
A champion, who has the chance to be transcendent, who prides himself on being a role model, a boy next door people's champion, should have come right out, and stated his commitment to clean boxing. Wilder, while crude, was outspoken on the issue, and has been for years. AJ had an opportunity to do so, and passed, so did Fury, who hates Whyte as well, so did BJ, who crushed fighters for the same thing, so did Hughie, so did Chisora, who looked like an animal last week.
See what I am getting at?
Why are all these men, who normally have no problem kicking a man who is down, be so quiet on an issue that directly impacts their reputation on the world stage?
AJ is the Barry bonds of this story, the big fish, the face of the era for the UK at this point, just like MLB, investigative reporters are going to start taking a good look at Anthony Joshua, and not just UK based writers, Hauser for sure, there can be no doubt, and that might not have been the case if dumb a$$ Whyte had just cycled correctly.
-This hurts UK fighters at the negotiating table, big time, who the heck is going to be comfortable fighting there? In this regard, the glove drama is more devastating, because fighters will truly believe that the UK commission and it's promoters stack the deck, like Hollywood movie stack the deck.
This is a huge story, an onion, a year from now, it will be seen in the same like as the MLB PED scandal.
