It's good that Leonard stays fit and trim and in shape at 63. He wasn't one of those boxers like Hopkins, Pacquiao, Mayweather and GGG who stay at the top level in their late 30s or even 40 or older. Leonard was done at the top when Norris slaughtered him when Leonard was 34. When Leonard tried to come back at 40 light punching little 34 year old Camacho KOed him in 4 one sided rounds. Age is a number that is hard to defeat. I know first hand because I am old an no matter how hard I train I am nothing compared to what I used to be. A few are lucky and seem almost ageless but most are not so lucky. At least Leonard stays fit while some old boxers are about 100 pounds over their old fighting weight.
Yeah but I think what mage Leo are old in the ring was his inactivity - he had long breaks and returned at between fights, starting with the one with the eye injury before Hagler, and then several others.
If he stayed active, he probably could have fought at the top competitively for longer. When a fighter has long breaks like him, it’s the not used to being hit which shows the most. When he came back for Norris and Camacho he was in good physical shape, but he was rusty as hell.
Herschel Walker is one of the very few exceptions.
But Herschel is a physical god. For practically his whole life he’s been an incredible athlete, and still dedicated to being his physical best. He’s just a rare human being.

Everybody has a different peak and drop-off. But there’s no doubt, everyone has to get old sometime, no matter how hard you train. I’m 53, and still look and perform at a pretty high level for my age, at least where “normal” men are concerned. As I’ve alluded to before, these guys we’re discussing aren’t regular people. They’re special. They have a higher capacity to maintain than most. Either way, the older one gets, the harder it becomes to stay in good condition. Father Time is undefeated.
those pacquiao community workouts look gay af. a bunch of cheerleaders shouting at him while he runs around with a medicine ball and a bunch of other nerds trying to join in. even worse is when he goes for a run with 30 people surrounding him.

He was already done before he fought Norris. He should’ve retired after he got a gift draw vs Hearns in the rematch. The legs had gone...
Its like them drugs from the 80s aint the same. Most of these guys were on that powder and look good compared to others
It was probably purer back then, now all the drugs are laced and sprayed with all kinds of sh**.
He looks phenomenal for his age, especially considering he battled cocaine and alcohol addictions.

I don't think Pacquiao knows how to do the ladder exercise, he was just stepping all over it.
I swear i thought the same thing when i saw a video of that black woman screaming at him to do leg work, I thought "Does man know what he is doing here or is he just playing around/skiving" lol.
