Fury Sucking Up to Americans

Americans are stupidly patriotic and will eat that **** up to come and pay for his next fight So how is hating your own country and catering the wants and needs of those who hate you working out for ya? Stay clear of those “no-go zones” mate.

Fury has gone rogue. His ho-mo phobic, misogynistic, jew baiting beliefs and his drug dealing uncles and ex-con father mean nothing to him now. Its all about mom and apple pies and trying to shaft the yanks out of much money as possible. True. He's re-invented himself, borrowing from "Rocky" movies for costumes and American pro-wrestlers for face-making. He's losing his British accent and in time he might talk more like Paulie Malignaggi. We have the best food in the world, bar none. Lol. And much more of it! But if Fury's taste buds were rattled by everyone from blown-up cruiserweight Steve Cunningham to Wladimir Klitschko, I guess he could end up weighing 400 pounds while eating blood pudding, savaloys, kippers, chip butties and a whole lotta Yorkie Bars. "It's not for girls" the Yorkie ads used to say. (Girls can eat Snickers bars and keep a spare in their knickers).

He has to. His fighting style is certainly not what's going to make him popular in the U.S. He just destroyed his opponent and sang an Aerosmith song..... he has WAY more fans than Bumsquad already.

Actually believe it or not there’s been Puerto Rican’s walking in with Mexican flags Wilfredo Vasquez sr and Jr both would walk in with Mexican flags on their shorts. Theirs been others too, despite the rivalry a lot PR fighters have love for Mexico it’s usually the dumbass fans that take it to a stupid level. Yes, the dumbass fans go nuts, but they're encouraged, since boxing is so much about ethnic rivalry. I guess Wilfredo was trying to show respect and sportsmanship. Pandering a little is ok. Fighting on foreign soil, boxers may stress in pre-fight interviews how much they LOVE visiting the country and seeing the sights, smiling, posing for pictures, and saying "the people have been so nice to me." But Fury's act was so over the top and so obvious. I get it, of course. England is the size of New York state. America has 50 states and is big bucks and big publicity. Fury seems to be working on losing any trace of British accent, too. He sure doesn't sound like Lennox Lewis, or like The Beatles when they came to America. Everybody knew those guys were from Liverpool, and proud of it. Fury's "The Gypsy King?" Now, sing Mr. Costello, "he thought he was the King of America, where they pour Coca Cola just like vintage wine..."

Fury wants to be a slick boxer and he knows the 1st step to being slick is being American. If he continues his journey to the 2nd step, expect to see him coming to the ring in blackface. can't be a slick bruvva over in the UK breathing fog and hitting up toothless fatties.

Cant blame Tyson Fury for spotting a gap in the market. America needs a great Heavyweight to be proud of cuz they havnt got any at the moment. They sorta have Ruiz but Ruiz dont want to be seen as an American so Fury is jumping in to see if he can tap in to this massive American $$$$$$$ market if it still exists.

It was about money and his Mexican fans. Tyson showed appeal to American boxing fans, unlike Joshua in his debut, who was mainly seen as a stranger. Americans notice Tyson's gesture. He should have a good career on this side of the pond. He has a personality. Well put. California has a higher GDP than England. It’s Prize fighting after all. His purse is coming from American money, Brits got to watch it in the middle of the night. I’m Canadian and if he fought here I’d understand maple leaf trunks, seems more like a thank you than anything else. Did anyone expect him to wear sum trunks with UK betting site on them? Half of Americans prolly wished he knelt at the anthrm. Andy Ruiz is born and raised trained in USA but he repped Mexico above all else when he won. Paid in American dollars. But he wants that Mexican fan base, and it makes sense they love their boxing. Prize fighting is based on selling out for as much as u can get. Viva Mexico says Nelo as he stands in Vegas.

It’s a great marketing plot for him, it’s not like he has a massive following in the UK, his boxing skills would be more appreciated in America to be honest. He has a deal there and he is trying to get their monies, so what do you do?

The Gypsy King has nothing to say about bringing his next fight back to the UK? He's that much of a sell-out to the American dollar? That he postured and mugged against a guy with almost no experience and a shorter reach was also ridiculous. I give him credit for singing fairly well. He also seems to have more confidence than when Steve Cunningham dropped him. He even has people thinking that no current Top 10 heavy can beat him. But he sure was being a Yankee Doodle Dandy wasn't he? But when Floyd dresses as a Mexican, that's fine i guess?

He has an American citizenship now according to multiple sources Before his comeback (but after he cleaned up) he was saying that he was moving to California full time because he's never felt welcome in England, being a Gypsy and all. Not sure if he actually did move to the USA full time or not though.

I think it was mostly meant to be tongue-in-cheek and a little sarcastic, but even with that he's playing to the crowd and getting them on his side. It's all part of his persona. Out of all the heavies and maybe even out of all currently active boxers he probably has the showmanship aspect of the sport figured out the best, it's a huge part of how he's gotten popular.
